I came back from a journey on Tuesday, 28th November 2017, the second day of our Hallelujah Week, and my wife asked me to pick our daughter from school. After picking my daughter from school, I drove to my wife’s office, but instead of driving into the office premises, I parked my car across the road and waited for my wife to come and pick her from the car, so that I could go home to rest for a while before coming to church later in the evening.
While we were waiting for her, I heard a loud bang at the back of my car, and immediately, my car started moving forward with force. My daughter asked me, “Daddy, daddy, what is that?” I just told her that I did not know. I tried to look through the rear-view mirror to find out what could have pushed my car forward with so much force, I could not see anything, but I guessed that if it were a car that hit my own, then it must be very low. Before I knew what was happening, I had knocked over a caution triangle that the driver of a tanker that was parked some distance in front of me had put up. It became obvious to me that I was heading dangerously close to the tanker that was loaded with flammable product, and I had to turn my steering to avoid running in the tanker.
After my car stopped and I managed to come down from the car, I found out it was a taxi that had hit my car and I saw people running from the taxi. All of them were injured, one of the women later died as a result of the accident. The impact on the taxi was so much that the two airbags burst. When the taxi driver came out, he thanked God that it was my car that he hit and not the tanker. In my heart, I wondered what would have happened if I had not left my car steaming, what would have been my fate and that of our precious daughter.
We make our boast in the Lord, and we thank God who went ahead of us to stop my car from hitting the tanker, which would have led to an explosion.
We declare that the sun is still shining and the darkness is over, the heavens are open, His goodness is pouring and His favour is rising, in Jesus’ name. Amen!
