Ekklesia
Ekklesia: School of Local Church
Ekklesia: School of Local Church, another arm of The Carpenter’s Ministry was established in January, 2005, with the aim of preparing men and women who sense a call to the full time pastoral ministry in the local church. At its inception, in January 2005, the vision of Ekklesia was a School for the “called out ones,” a School of Local Church, where someone who sensed a call into the fulltime ministry could be trained; a school where 2 Timothy 2:2 could be fulfilled: “And the things that you have heard from me among many witnesses, commit these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.” At that time the focus was to equip men and women for full time ministry (clergy) based in a local Church.
At the end of the 2012/13 School Year, the Lord expanded the vision of Ekklesia to include programs that would give Christians who don’t have a call into full time ministry the opportunity to deepen their knowledge of God and provide them with practical hands on knowledge in certain aspects of Christian endeavour so that they could be effective Christians with results. In order to meet this need, the creation of a curriculum for laity was made. This led to a total restructuring of the curriculum of the school. Thus, Ekklesia now provides instruction on two paths as follows:
LAITY PATH
CLERGY PATH
I am most fortunate to have been a student of Ekklesia: School of Local Church.
To say my life can never be the same is an understatement.
Ekklesia gave me a complete paradigm shift in my values and priorities as a christian.
My coming to Ekklesia transformed my life and gave me direction for my God-given purpose. I came into Ekklesia at a point in my life where I had so many questions because I wasn't at peace with the teachings i used to receive then.
I finished my Ekklesia year equipped with great knowledge of my music ministry and I thank God for leading me to Ekklesia.
As I come to a truly fitting end to my journey through Ekklesia: School of Local Church, the memories of my experience in Ekklesia will forever be dear to my heart. From the very intense admission process, I knew that I was going to get a life-changing experience in Ekklesia and that is exactly what it was: “Life Changing”.
My time at Ekklesia was a very special one. The Distintive Leadership Course revolutionized my approach to leadership.
It showed me how to lead according to God's standard and that leadership can be learned and perfected.
