COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT

Development

The ministry invests in the development of its host communities: the Rumuchida and Rumukpakani communities of Rumueme, Port Harcourt, Rivers State in Nigeria. We believe that the Light of God’s Word coming to a community always fast tracks its development.

In 1998 when The Carpenter’s Ministry moved into the community, we graded the present road called The Carpenter’s Drive twice to make it passable as it was abandoned and in very poor shape. The security situation in the community at that time was very dire due to the bad roads. Now the communities are much safer and to support the local police station in their duties, the Ministry purchased a brand new pick up truck for the police station.

In addition to The General’s Scholarship Fund, other community development projects include the street light project on Rumuchida Road executed some years ago and the Chinda road reconstruction done in 2014. The Ministry also carries out outreaches to the widows of the host communities every Christmas. This began in 2013. The widows get a sizable portion of meat (from slaughtered cows), portions of rice and cans of tinned tomatoes too. More importantly the Gospel is ministered to them and many of them come to know Jesus Christ.
