Overcoming Impossible Situations – Pastor Charles Omofomah

1 And in the second year of the reign of Nebuchadnezzar Nebuchadnezzar dreamed dreams, wherewith his spirit was troubled, and his sleep brake from him. 2 Then the king commanded to call the magicians, and the astrologers, and the sorcerers, and the Chaldeans, for to shew the king his dreams. So they came and stood before the king. 3 And the king said unto them, I have dreamed a dream, and my spirit was troubled to know the dream. 4 Then spake the Chaldeans to the king in Syriack, O king, live for ever: tell thy servants the dream, and we will shew the interpretation. 5 The king answered and said to the Chaldeans, The thing is gone from me: if ye will not make known unto me the dream, with the interpretation thereof, ye shall be cut in pieces, and your houses shall be made a dunghill. 6 But if ye shew the dream, and the interpretation thereof, ye shall receive of me gifts and rewards and great honour: therefore shew me the dream, and the interpretation thereof. 7 They answered again and said, Let the king tell his servants the dream, and we will shew the interpretation of it. 8 The king answered and said, I know of certainty that ye would gain the time, because ye see the thing is gone from me. 9 But if ye will not make known unto me the dream, there is but one decree for you: for ye have prepared lying and corrupt words to speak before me, till the time be changed: therefore tell me the dream, and I shall know that ye can shew me the interpretation thereof. 10 The Chaldeans answered before the king, and said, There is not a man upon the earth that can shew the king’s matter: therefore there is no king, lord, nor ruler, that asked such things at any magician, or astrologer, or Chaldean. 11 And it is a rare thing that the king requireth, and there is none other that can shew it before the king, except the gods, whose dwelling is not with flesh. Daniel 2:1-11 (KJV) The Scriptures in Daniel 2:1-11 give a vivid account of Daniel, facing and overcoming an impossible situation. King Nebuchadnezzar had a dream, and his spirit was troubled to know the meaning. He called the magicians, the astrologers, the sorcerers, and the Chaldeans to interpret his dream. However, he wouldn’t tell them the dream; on the contrary, he asked them to tell him his dream instead and also give the interpretation. That way, he would know they were not lying. In response to this, the Chaldeans said, “No one has ever asked this from mere mortals before. It is impossible with men. It is only the gods that can reveal this, and these gods don’t dwell among men”. Verse 12 of Daniel 2 further tells us that the king became very angry and furious, and commanded that all the wise men of Babylon be killed. Unfortunately, this included Daniel and his companions. When Daniel heard about this, he did something. In this article, we will learn four very important lessons from Daniel’s response to the king’s request. 15. He answered and said to Arioch the king’s captain, Why is the decree so hasty from the king? Then Arioch made the thing known to Daniel.16. Then Daniel went in, and desired of the king that he would give him time, and that he would shew the king the interpretation.17. Then Daniel went to his house, and made the thing known to Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah, his companions:18. That they would desire mercies of the God of heaven concerning this secret; that Daniel and his fellows should not perish with the rest of the wise men of Babylon.19. Then was the secret revealed unto Daniel in a night vision. Then Daniel blessed the God of heaven.20. Daniel answered and said, Blessed be the name of God for ever and ever: for wisdom and might are his:21. And he changeth the times and the seasons: he removeth kings, and setteth up kings: he giveth wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding:22. He revealeth the deep and secret things: he knoweth what is in the darkness, and the light dwelleth with him.Daniel 2:15-22 (KJV) Take Advantage Of Your Access To The King The first thing you must know if you are going to overcome impossible situations is that you have open access to the King. Daniel went in and asked the king to give him time. If Daniel could ask Arioch, the king’s captain who was told to carry out the execution, “Why is the decree so hasty from the king?” and after he was told, he went to the king and asked him to give him time, that means Daniel knew he had access to the king. That is very instructive. If you are going to overcome every obstacle and situation that men call impossible, you must take advantage of the access you have to the King. When the Chaldeans added that the dream can only be revealed by the gods, and these gods do not dwell among men, they were in effect saying that they don’t have access to the gods; but you’ve got access to your King. Take advantage of the access you have, and go into His presence, especially when He has given you an open invitation. The Bible says you should come boldly and obtain mercy and find grace to help in a time of need (Hebrews 4:16). No matter what the situation is, take advantage of the access you have towards the King. Take Advantage Of The Time The second thing you must know is that you must take advantage of the time you have. When David asked the king for some time, he didn’t go back to do irrelevant things or while away in dirty jokes; he took advantage of the time he had obtained. Don’t waste your time on irrelevant things, study your Bible, and pray in tongues at every given opportunity. Make use of

INFLUENCE YOUR TOMORROW WITH YOUR SEED 26 And He said, “The kingdom of God is as if a man should scatter seed on the ground,27 and should sleep by night and rise by day, and the seed should sprout and grow, he himself does not know how.28 For the earth yields crops by itself: first the blade, then the head, after that the full grain in the head.29 But when the grain ripens, immediately he puts in the sickle, because the harvest has come.”Mark 4:26-29 Your seed is so powerful that it can influence your tomorrow. It doesn’t matter if the government in your country is corrupt and the officials squander and steal all the money in the coffers, it shouldn’t bother your finances, because you have an advantage. You know how to influence your tomorrow with your seed. If any of them decides to accumulate wealth till they burst with stolen wealth, God will orchestrate things in your direction. The decisions of those in the government should not permanently affect you adversely, if you are a sower. How then does your seed influence your tomorrow? In some cases, like that of the Shunammite woman, God may tell you ahead of time what tomorrow will be, so you can be well positioned and plan ahead of time. At other times, God may not bother telling you, He will just orchestrate things in your favour. He will just let you sleep so you don’t start bothering about tomorrow. Just like the Scripture says you will just scatter your seed on good ground and go to sleep, and the seed will do what it has been pre-programmed to do (Mark 4:26-27). It will yield fruit, which will be waiting for you in your tomorrow. Hallelujah. I can influence my tomorrow with my seed. Confession: I know how to influence my tomorrow with my seeds. The seeds I am sowing today give me advantage over my tomorrow and they yield abundant harvest of fruits waiting for me in my future! THE FORCE OF YOUR SEED 1 Then Elisha spoke to the woman whose son he had restored to life, saying, “Arise and go, you and your household, and stay wherever you can; for the LORD has called for a famine, and furthermore, it will come upon the land for seven years.”2 Kings 8:1 Do you know who this woman is? She is the Shunammite woman. She is “the aggressive giver” who sowed habitually, by perception, and progressively and into the life of Elisha, the man of God. When she was not expecting a son, God gave her one. When the son died, God raised him back to life using the man of God, Elisha. However, God was not through with her still. Her aggressive seed was still speaking on her behalf. When there was going to be a famine in the land, God told Elisha to tell this woman what was going to happen. The force of her seed was the influence she had over her future. Force means strength, power, energy, might, impact, weight, and impetus. Have you heard statements like: “Nobody knows what tomorrow will bring?” That is half-truth. Half-truths are dangerous. The Scripture says, “Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap” (Galatians 6:7). This verse is saying that whatever a man sows today, that is the same he shall reap tomorrow. You may not know tomorrow, but you can begin to influence your tomorrow by your seed. Your today was determined by the choices, habits and actions of yesterday. Similarly, your tomorrow can be created by your choices, habits and actions of today. I have known poverty. We were so poor that the poor called us poor. That situation is changing for the better and it will continue to change and it can only get better because I understand the force of the seed. I understand that to make it have its full course, I should sow my seed habitually and progressively and if I do that, I may not know the day to day specifications of my tomorrow – but I can certainly be sure that my tomorrow is blessed and it is really good. Confession: I understand the strength of the seed I sow today and the power it wields over my future. I sow my seed habitually and I am certain that my tomorrow is blessed. PERMANENT PRODUCTIVITY 7 [Most] blessed is the man who believes in, trusts in, and relies on the Lord, and whose hope and confidence the Lord is.8 For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters that spreads out its roots by the river; and it shall not see and fear when heat comes; but its leaf shall be green. It shall not be anxious and full of care in the year of drought, nor shall it cease yielding fruit.Jeremiah 17:7-8 (AMP) The tree just described remains green because it retains its fruit bearing ability all year round, whether there’s heat or drought; whether the season is good or bad, it remains green. As long as it remains green there is always the possibility of fruit coming out. The leaf stays green because the fruit bearing ability is not touched. Today, there might not be a fruit in your life but because you are evergreen, tomorrow, that will change. You may have been trusting God for something, but your expectation is not matching the season you find yourself in. You have become quite anxious in drought. Remember that through meditation the tree that you saw was an evergreen tree. It was a tree whose leaves remained green always. That means, tomorrow, the situation can change. If you are trusting God for the fruit of the womb, tomorrow you may miss your period and discover you are pregnant. If you believe God for a breakthrough in your business, tomorrow, that contract could walk in through your door. It can happen any day, so you are relaxed; and you’re not anxious; neither does the drought bother you because your permanent productivity is guaranteed. Confession: In the season of drought I do not become anxious. I am evergreen and ever ready to bring forth fruit. TRANSPLANTED AND EVERGREEN 3 He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper.Psalm 1:3 The word “planted” also means transplanted. In a certain place, if irrigation fails, the trees there are dug up and relocated to a more conducive environment, they are said to have been transplanted. The psalmist was inspired to say that you shall be like a tree transplanted if necessary to make the location conducive. There’re some Christians who may have belonged to churches where they sowed certain seeds and their trees were growing, but the environment was no longer conducive. This is either because the church deviated from the Word of God, or the pastor began to manipulate, seduce and control the members to the point, where they had to leave and relocate to another church. If you’re that kind of person, your seeds are not dead. Just keep on meditating on the Word day and night. As you do so, you are transplanting those seeds and sacrifices that you made out of a sincere heart. The most thrilling and exciting thing about this tree is not even that the tree will bring forth fruit. It is that the leaves of the tree will not wither! We’re talking about an evergreen tree. It means that meditation guarantees you an evergreen tree. The word evergreen means to always have fruit-bearing ability. Whether the fruit is presently on the tree or not is not the issue. With an evergreen tree, there is no telling when the fruit will pop out. With a tree that is affected by seasons, you may look at the tree and you know it won’t produce fruit till after a certain time. An evergreen tree is a tree that remains green forever. Its leaves will neither wither, nor fade. That is to say you will not be rich today and poor tomorrow; healthy today and sick tomorrow; have success today and failure tomorrow. Your leaves will not fade. Your leaves will not fall to the ground. Your leaves will not turn brown, and be destroyed. The tree that meditation gives birth to is an evergreen tree. Confession: I am an evergreen tree. I always have fruit-bearing ability. TCM Bible Reading Plan2 Kings 8:1-9:13, Acts 16:16-40Psalm 143:1-12, Proverbs 17:26
