The MoThaRs Collection seem to have been the reply to many a MoThaR because of the reception it got from inception till now. I believe it came at the best time too. For me as a mother and wife, it has settled a lot of those issues I usually felt was peculiar. I have come to learn that nothing is peculiar, we are all in it together and must stoop to learn from one another.
I can mention some classes that were heaven sent to me but one class that has turned my life around was the Balancing Act. These days when I seem overwhelmed I quickly go back there and draw strength. It has become like a Jerusalem- pilgrimage location of some sort to me. I recommend it to every and any wife and mother.
Make sure you attend the next class, you never can say what will be said until you are there.
I want to say thank you to my Men of God for this awesome move from the very belly of God. Thank you and see you all by the end of the month.
G. Akintoye.
Wao!! i have been so much blessed by every episode of the MoThaRs collection. The ‘Balancing Act’ simply teaches me that the experience is common to ‘us’ all and it’s not by power & might but by His grace. There’s no more stress in discharging my marital duties knowing that “One woman’s stress is another’s prayer point”. What a revelation! How do I say thank you to our great men of God, Pastor Cee & Pastor Kech!
God bless you Pastors!
I have really been blessed by these meetings and I thank God for our Pastors for setting this up. I have learnt a lot from these meetings and look forward to the end of the month for a new session.
Mothers collection has been a blessing to me. Not only do i now know that everything is possible-having career, managing the home, being a perfect wife and a mother……I know that relying on God will make it a whole lot easier, enjoyable and rewarding. What we learn from these meetings cannot be gotten anywhere else!!! Real, practical, honest, reliable, centered on God's word…..It is the “Ohms Law” for every married woman! Being a MothaR in TCC is a real blessing… God bless you Pastors!
It’s been awesome all the way. Each programme so far leaves me lighter than I came in, fulfilling the words of Jesus from Matt 11:28. Am in his rest where grace is available for me.
For over 7 months I tried very hard to handle issues that required my attention (family, studies, Job, ministry …… the list seemed endless) not until “The Balancing Act†in MoTHaRs collection appeared on the scene. What a great difference that has made to my entire Life!
Can’t help but wonder how far I could have gone without that message. GOD IS GOOD. Thank you to Pastor.
Thank God for this privilege to be exposed to the true Life God wants us to enjoy in a VERY relax and friendly atmosphere, changing the core of our being.
Thank God for the ministry gift of our Pastors we are blessed to truly be the Master Piece.
Being a relatively new wife, I have had some very real challenges balancing the new responsibilities of managing a home and husband alongside a full-time career. Even so, I have been so blessed by the insights shared in MoThARs collection meetings by all the speakers. I also really appreciate the level of forthrightness shown by those who share experiences and ask questions – you babes don’t know how much you have blessed me – Thanks!
I am learning to lean on God’s grace and have a ‘can do’ attitude – instead of feeling overwhelmed by it all. I am gradually feeling more confident in my role and willing to learn from whoever is doing it better. I look forward to every meeting and hope wives & mothers within and outside The Carpenter’s ministries will take advantage of this free God-given ‘kronje’ shared every last Sunday of the month.
Thank you Pastor Cee & Pastor Nkechi for coinciding the commencement of the meetings with my marriage! ‘Cos now I get to benefit by laying the right foundation from Day 1!
I come across a lot of believers who have children when they are not ready, and shy away from contraception. Is contraception contrary to the word of God? If not what forms of contraception can believers use.
Contraception as a form of family planning within the marriage relationship is not wrong. It enables you to plan before bringing babies into this world. The Bible admonishes us in Luke 14:28-30 to count the cost before beginning any project – even the project of having babies.
We advise that a couple seeks medical counsel before choosing a method of family planning. They need to also find out if the method is preventive or if abortive. Abortive methods should not be acceptable to Bible believing Christians. Ask questions about the long-term effect of the preventive ones. If the first one chosen doesn’t suit the couple they can try another. The method that works for a couple in their baby-making years, may need to be changed when they have stopped having babies.
The important thing in making the choice of method of family planning at any time in your marriage, is that both the husband and the wife should endeavour to be unselfish and in love, consider one another and the good of the family.
28 For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it?
29 Lest haply, after he hath laid the foundation, and is not able to finish it, all that behold it begin to mock him,
30 Saying, This man began to build, and was not able to finish.
Luke 14:28-30 (KJV)
From the debut episode of The MoThaRs Collection in April 2009 to the July episode(Fireproof movie), I have been tremendously blessed by every single episode! In May’s edition, i went home with several stuff and my favorite mantra since then has been “GRACE IS AVAILABLE”. Believe me, just saying this alone from my heart in the middle of a choking situation, gives me fresh energy & vigor. This was a revelation by Pastor Nkechi Ene as she taught us that evening. Sometimes our jobs as mothers, wives, and career women can be so overwhelming but we should always remember that “God’s Grace is available”. She made us understand that strength to function the way you ought to, comes from above. Also, the timely show of the movie “Fireproof” amongst other things reiterated the truth “Don’t leave your partner behind in a fire”. I am looking forward to this month’s edition and many more to come. God bless Pastor Charles & Pastor Nkechi for setting up these timely family meetings.

This is a nice blog topic
yes it is
My husband gave his life to Christ in the process of seeking a relationship with me, a few years later we got married. In the course of the marriage he beat me repeatedly from which I sustained multiple injuries, he also was verbally abusive and chose not to work or provide for us for a good part of the marriage, he was always in one quarrel or the other with members of my family and at some point banned me from speaking to some of my relatives; he stopped me or the children from going to church, my life became a nightmare. I stayed on in the marriage, bearing the financial responsibility and praying and hoping for a change. I decided to fast for my marriage and 1 week into the fast, I found out that my husband had been cheating on me and even made numerous attempts to sleep and almost raped my house-help in the presence of my children. At that point I took my kids and ran. I don’t want to go on for myself and my kids because the environment is too toxic. Is this wrong? My husband is not remorseful and I just can’t go back to the torment. Is divorce wrong in my case? I believe I can raise Godly children on my own, am I wrong?
Dear Anonymous,
Thanks for being open about your experience and for sending in this question. We want you to know that God has a solution for every challenge you may be going through as a believer. Jesus came for the purpose of healing the brokenhearted, delivering captives, and liberating those who are bruised. That perfectly describes the condition of someone who is being abused in their marriage. Jesus came to rescue people from abusive relationships!
Nowhere in the Word is there a place where God applauds or supports abuse. In fact, abuse is inherently opposite to God’s nature. If believers are made new creatures in Christ and partakers in His nature, how can we possibly justify or excuse abusive behaviour by someone bearing the name “Christian”? Also through his promiscuity, you can also be exposed to sexually transmitted diseases.
God does not want you to remain in an abusive marriage. But there is also a process for addressing the abuse. If there is physical violence, even just occasionally, an abused spouse may need a little period of separation. He/she needs to get outside the home into a safe place. In this situation, further Biblical steps like seeking for counsel need to occur from a position outside the same home as the abuser.
You should as the spouse of the abuser do everything you can to redeem and help bring the abuser to a point of repentance and a change in behaviour through your prayers and show of agape love, but that should likely be done away from your matrimonial home.
Additionally, we also believe that God has placed authorities such as law enforcement officers in our society to protect us from those who would do harm to us or our children.
Some Christian women stay in abusive marriages is because they feel sorry for the man. Sometimes they believe he can be helped. He might have promised to get help. She feels the good times outweigh the bad. She believes if she can work harder to please him, he will treat her better. She blames herself and thinks she deserves the beatings. She doesn’t believe she can escape her abuser’s domination. She may think other people will believe it’s her fault. The abuser may even threaten to kill her, their children, other people close to her or himself if she leaves him. She feels she cannot financially support herself and/or her children. She believes that if she hangs in there with him, things will change, and get better. She fears being alone.
All the points we listed above are not enough reasons to stay in a home where you are constantly abused and your life is in danger. You may not think of divorce for now but separation will be a safe thing to do while you watch his attitude to see if he truly repents and turns from his wicked ways and renews his mind with the word of God.
The Bible says that our children shall be taught of the Lord and great shall be the peace of our children. You can actually raise godly children if you teach them and guide them through the principles of the Word of God. It is the Word that produces life in a person.
And all thy children shall be taught of the LORD; and great shall be the peace of thy children.
Isaiah 54:13
We believe that if your spouse is truly repentant, he will seek for true help from those who can help him, and his pastors (if he’s a believer), and with the leading of the Holy Spirit in you, you will know for sure if he has repented or if he is luring you again into a deadly trap. You can ensure that the following issues are cleared before you go back to the marriage.
Recommit to each other before an authority figure e.g. your pastor and/or parents.
Stabilize your children in a normal family setting full of love and affirmation.
Recover physically and emotionally from the abuse.
See his eagerness and desire to have you back in his life.
Confirm that he has cut off from every negative influence and dealt with the negative habits that hurt your marriage earlier on.
Go through counseling individually and together as a couple.
