19 We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts.
2 Peter 1:19 (KJV)
Many times when people go to witch doctors or those involved in divination, they hear them say things like this: “…I see a light in your future, the light is shining brightly…, but there is a shadow… and I see a skinny tall woman in the shadow… she’s the one that is blocking your good luck… she is a known witch from your village.” Ridiculous! There is always a “but” in the bright future that such people see. As it is said in Pidgin English “Na but dey spoil English!”
With the Word of God, there is no “but” in the enviable future that your Father in heaven has laid out for you. There is no demon strong enough; there is no darkness black enough to block the glory that God has bestowed upon you. I’ve got news for you. Your future is good all the way. That is a sure word of prophecy.
Some people in some parts of Nigeria, who live in the thriving, busy cities don’t like going to their villages in the countryside. This is not because they don’t like the simple village life or the relaxation that exists there, in contrast to the hustle and bustle of the city. They are simply afraid to go back home – the place of their natural roots because they believe that when they go there, a spell may be cast on them. How can a believer, one who supernaturally has new roots in Christ, be afraid of someone bewitching him or killing him? “He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty” (Psalm 91:1). That is a sure word of prophecy given to you for your protection. Here’s another one: “No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue which rises against you in judgment you shall condemn” (Isaiah 54:17). That is a sure word of prophecy. Through this sure word of prophecy you can condemn everything that comes against you in the Name of Jesus Christ. The Word is real. It is a sure word of prophecy. You can depend on it.
Confession:
God’s Word is real. It is a sure Word of prophecy and I fully depend on it.
