WHAT REALM DO YOU LIVE IN?

24 And the disciples were astonished at His words. But Jesus answered again and said to them, “Children, how hard it is for those who trust in riches to enter the kingdom of God!
25 It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.”
26 And they were greatly astonished, saying among themselves, “Who then can be saved?”
27 But Jesus looked at them and said, “With men it is impossible, but not with God; for with God all things are possible.”

Mark 10:24-27

When Jesus said, “Children, how hard it is for those who trust in riches to enter the kingdom of God,” His disciples were astonished, and asked among themselves, “Who then can be saved?” This reveals a profound truth to us: the disciples of Jesus were not poor men. They were wealthy men. They were business men, great fishermen, men of substance. If they were all poor men, they would have rejoiced in response to Jesus saying, “Hallelujah, I’m a poor man, so I can enter the kingdom of God.”

Jesus reassured His disciples and told them that He didn’t mean that it is impossible for the rich to enter into the kingdom of God. He meant that it is difficult for those who put their confidence in their wealth to enter into the kingdom of God. For those who trust in God, what is naturally impossible becomes possible.

Those who trust in God live and prosper in the realm of the supernatural; the realm of all things being possible; but those who trust in gold live in the realm of the natural: the realm of the impossible. The young ruler had great possessions but he went away sad and sorrowful (Mark 10:22). He trusted in money and possessions. In 1 Timothy 6:17, Paul said, “Command those who are rich in this present age not to be haughty, nor to trust in uncertain riches but in the living God, who gives us richly all things to enjoy.” Those who do not trust God may have wealth but they live in the realm of sorrow and grief.

Friend, what realm do you live in?

Confession:
I live and prosper in the realm of the supernatural. I am wealthy because my Father has given me richly all things to enjoy, and because I trust in God, my life is free from sorrow and grief.
