32 And such as do wickedly against the covenant shall he corrupt by flatteries: but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits.
Daniel 11:32 (KJV)
Reading from the King James Version, the word “exploits” in this verse is in italics. That means it was not there originally but inserted by the translators of the Bible. If we remove the word “exploits” it will read, “…The people that do know their God shall be strong, and do.” What does “do” mean? It means to invent. Why will the people that know their God invent? It is because they have got the life of God inside of them. They will invent all kinds of good things including businesses that have not existed before.
The people that do know their God shall be inventors. A lot of us just follow what other people have done before or run away from places where others have failed. Follow the Word of God and let God give you ideas that will cause you to make inventions occur.
Our God is truly a BIG God and the divinely inspired good ideas and divine opportunities open to His children are vast and innumerable. There is something unique about you and something unique that God has reserved for you to do. Too many times we look at others and try to do what they are doing. Begin to look inside for there is an invention lying within you.
What is an invention? It is defined as a product of originality, creativity, imagination and inspiration. It is also a design, an innovation and a new development. Even if you are doing something others have done before, there will be a niche you can create for yourself by a unique inventive touch.
If you are a dressmaker, a caterer, an engineer, a teacher, an artist, a doctor, a home keeper, a cab driver, a music minister, a preacher, a student, and you know God, then you can be strong and invent! That is what it means for the life to be the light and development of men. That is what it means for you to be the city that is set on a hill, and a lamp that is not hidden. The life of God should be evident in your everyday life.
Confession:
Through the life of God in me I will make inventions. As I follow God’s Word and Spirit, I receive ideas that result in inventions.
