7 But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, the hidden wisdom which God ordained before the ages for our glory,

8 which none of the rulers of this age knew; for had they known, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.

1 Corinthians 2:7-8

Here in our text, Jesus is referred to as “the Seed of the woman.” What does this mean?

If you study the Scriptures, you will discover that the serpent, Satan, the enemy, then known as Lucifer, was the one in charge of the earth, but he rebelled against God. You can imagine how he felt when God unveiled His plan for humanity and created Adam and Eve to have dominion over the earth. The enemy made up his mind that the plan and purpose of God would be destroyed. That was why he came into the Garden, tempted Adam and Eve, who ate the fruit God commanded them not to eat.

Adam and Eve committed high treason when they disobeyed God in the Garden of Eden and as a result, they handed over their authority to Satan. The plan of God for humanity was disrupted. Then God showed up in the Garden and He pronounced different consequences on Adam, Eve, and the serpent. For the serpent, He put enmity between it and the woman, and between it and her Seed. This was God’s wisdom on display and Satan was confused. Who was this Seed? It was Jesus Christ who was to be born of a virgin. The Seed of the woman is a product of divine wisdom.

Friend, don’t underestimate the divine wisdom of God. Even when you make mistakes and it seems like the plan of God for your life has been disrupted totally, don’t give up and buy into the lie of the enemy that all hope is lost. Go to God, acknowledge your mistakes and trust Him. He has a superior master plan that can recalculate your route, just like a GPS (Global Positioning System) and get you back on course.

Confession: I refuse to allow my mistakes make me despair concerning the plan of God for my life. By His wisdom in me, I stay on the path of His perfect plan for me. His purpose for me ultimately prevails in my life.
