THE POWER IN THE KING’S CALL

14 Then Pharaoh sent and called Joseph,
and they brought him quickly out of the
dungeon; and he shaved, changed his clothing,
and came to Pharaoh.
15 And Pharaoh said to Joseph, “
I have had a dream, and there is no one who can
interpret it. But I have heard it said of you that
you can understand a dream, to interpret it.”

Genesis 41:14-15

If you are going to shake the limits off your
life, you must recognize the King’s call.
There is power in the King’s call. When I
talk about the “King’s call”
I am not only referring to the call of God upon
the five fold ministry gifts of an apostle, prophet,
evangelist, pastor and teacher (Ephesians 4:11).
I am also talking about the King’s call to be
a wealthy businessman, to be a skilled music minister,
to be a medical doctor, to be a teacher – whatever
your call may be. I am talking about you recognizing the
call of God upon your life in whatever area He has called
you to stay in. If it is God who has called you to occupy
that area, then there is power in His call.

Genesis 41:14 shows you what the King’s call can do to
you and where it can get you out from. Pharaoh sent for Joseph
and hastily they went to remove him from the dungeon. God’s
call will remove you from the dungeon. “Dungeon” means
a closed dark prison; a cell underground. I made up my mind long ago that I would not accept mediocrity
in my life anymore. Contrary to popular opinion, mediocrity is not
something that is not good; it is good but it is not the best.
To be mediocre is to be average, middle-of- the-road, ordinary
and unexceptional. The greatest enemy of best is not bad. The
greatest enemy of best is good. Maybe you are in a good place,
in a comfortable employment, and you just sit there, saying to
yourself, that at the end of the month you will get your one hundred
and twenty thousand Naira or better still, four thousand US Dollars.
Pastor Nkechi once said that, “Every success and every failure
in your life has the potential to limit you.” Shake off the limits
and leave that comfort zone. What must you do to shake the limits off,
and get beyond where you have reached now?

I was once in the dungeon of life, but God called me, and since He
called me, He took me out of the dungeon because in the dungeon you
are confined and limited. In the dungeon you are tied and you cannot
go beyond the place where you are kept, but when God calls you,
He takes you out of the dungeon.

Confession:

I thank You Father for calling me with a unique purpose.
I receive the power in my call and I will not be a clone. I will be
whom You have called me to be and will walk in the freedom that my call
brings me. Amen.
