20 Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us,
21 to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.
Ephesians 3:20-21
When we read this verse of Scripture, we often emphasize the Almighty part: “…to Him who is able to do…” Yes, He is able to do exceedingly abundantly above. However, that is not the emphasis in the verse. The real emphasis is, “…according to the power that works in us.” God is telling you to look inward to the power that works in you. He has filled you with His power for a purpose – to draw on His ability, which is there in abundant measures towards you.
When you are praying to God, pray like you know your life depends on who you’re praying to; but don’t stop there! Rise up after praying and go out like a bulldozer with the power that is at work in you and all those things you have been afraid of, will be afraid of you. When you come out like a bulldozer and the Devil is roaring at you like a lion, don’t be afraid. Even if he is roaring and waving a sickness, a dilemma, a situation of lack right in your face; do not fear, there is resurrection power at work in you. The same power that raised Jesus from the dead is at work in you. Let him know that though he may roar like a lion, he is not The Lion; Jesus is the Lion of the tribe of Judah (Revelation 5:5).
Friend, apart from your actions, that power is also released by your tongue. So remember that each time you say, “This problem will swallow me,” you go down a little deeper. However, when you start saying, “Greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world,” you’ll go to the next rung of the ladder. Learn to speak right things from the Word of God. Align yourself with what God says. Think like God and speak like He speaks, because you are a partaker of His power. Remember that the Bible says that evil company corrupts good habits (1 Corinthians 15:33), so avoid anybody who will not speak the Word of faith around you.
Confession:
God has filled me with His power. I look inward and I draw on His ability.
