I want to thank you Pastor Nkechi for hugging me, it addressed an issue in my life. I grew up as the tenth child in a family of ten without love and affection. As a child, I desired to be loved and shown affection, but I received none of those. I constantly had a reminder of my weaknesses and inadequacies so much that they became a problem to me, and it was difficult to believe otherwise. When I was told I looked fine, I got excited and thought about it for many days because I found it hard to believe.
As an unbeliever, I struggled with the feeling of rejection, anger, pain and depression which constantly plagued me. When I got saved, I still could not believe that God loved me because couldn’t understand what it meant to be loved. I found it hard to relate to people, because I could not love them since I didn’t love myself. Over the years, I erected walls around me to prevent people from hurting me, and in return these walls prevented me from loving people, accepting them and knowing the love of God. But the day you hugged me Pastor, I felt those walls crumbling down and for the first time in my life, I understood that the love of God is pure, holy and beautiful. Thank you for showing me God’s love.
