THE GREATEST ENEMY OF BEST

13 Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended;
but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are
behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead,
14 I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward
call of God in Christ Jesus.

Philippians 3:13-14

There are a lot of limits I personally want to take
off my life and I know there are limits that you need
to take off your life also. When I talk about limits,
I am talking about all kinds of limitations. Limitation
is defined as restriction, restraint, barrier, block, and deterrent.
There are certain limitations that I cannot possibly mention but
you recognize them as limitations in your own life. Stop for a moment
and think about the limitations you have allowed in your life.

I made up my mind long ago that I would not accept mediocrity
in my life anymore. Contrary to popular opinion, mediocrity is not
something that is not good; it is good but it is not the best.
To be mediocre is to be average, middle-of- the-road, ordinary
and unexceptional. The greatest enemy of best is not bad. The
greatest enemy of best is good. Maybe you are in a good place,
in a comfortable employment, and you just sit there, saying to
yourself, that at the end of the month you will get your one hundred
and twenty thousand Naira or better still, four thousand US Dollars.
Pastor Nkechi once said that, “Every success and every failure
in your life has the potential to limit you.” Shake off the limits
and leave that comfort zone. What must you do to shake the limits off,
and get beyond where you have reached now?

Confession:

Lord, thank You for giving me Your best
in the sacrifice of Your Son. You did that so I can
live the best life possible. I will shun mediocrity
and pursue excellence, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
