The Goodness Of God Is In Me

I came into the then Royal Evangel Church (now The Carpenter’s Church) on invitation by my brother, Bro. Sam Daniels. I came as a bachelor with a Bachelor’s Degree, an applicant squatting with an uncle and friends in their one-room apartment. I also had to trek to church. I was an average citizen but my persistence and steadfastness in the things of God and the knowledge acquired from the pulpit of TCC transformed my person.

I ventured into all spheres of personal selling business to make ends meet, all to no avail. With faith, I got married in TCC. We asked God to bless us with four children and we have two boys and two girls. I went back to school to get a Master’s degree, which was obtained after twenty-four calendar months. Armed with a Master’s degree in Marketing, we went further to ask God for a pensionable job for sustainability, and I was obliged a lecturing job where it was required that I acquire a terminal degree. One year on the job, I proceeded for a terminal degree but we were all dropped when a new government came in due to the Supreme Court judgment that ousted the sitting government in Rivers State. I came to Pastor Charles for counselling, he briefly prayed with me and told me to listen to the message titled He Changed My Roots. He also assured me that God is working out something good for me and that I should be steadfast.

I continued with my academics and steadfastness and a few months later, I was reinstated on my job as an assistant lecturer and all salary arrears owed me were paid in full. I paid my tithes and used the rest judiciously. I drove to and from Port Harcourt to Abakaliki weekly for school runs for over six years, and I never was a victim of accident nor armed robbery incident. It’s either the accident or armed robbery attack happened before I get to the scene, or it happened after I would have passed the scene. Truly the Word works, as it is written in Psalms 91:10: “No evil shall befall you, Nor shall any plague come near your dwelling.”

The goodness of God is in me. Today, against all odds, I have a PhD in Marketing and by the grace of God, I’ll be a senior lecturer in the next promotion exercise of the University where I work. My five-bedroom bungalow is also near completion. God is in TCC and the Word works in TCC when you tenaciously run with the words that are preached here.

Thank you Pastor Nkechi Ene, you are indeed a virtuous mother. At some point, she asked after my family and I when our absence in church became obvious because of some pocket leakages occasioned by academic demands. I wholeheartedly acknowledge the serenity, love and care to my family and I by the then Sam Daniels’ FOG, Nwabueze’s FOG and TCC members over these years of my academic sojourn. I am so grateful to God for His goodness in my life. Praise God!
