As a young graduate, I had heard about how difficult it was to get a job after NYSC. Even though I was very qualified as a teacher with a very good result and could easily be absorbed into the educational system, I made up my mind not to tow that line. It was never my desired course of study but the stress of sitting for JAMB and WAEC examinations made me take the course. And so with no allowance for months during my NYSC days as a result of some issues that came up and my financial state being at level zero, I decided to take up the available job I could find. I had no clue of where and what God had in store for me.
I had made a vow to God before now that I would give Him my first salary if He gives me a job. Though at the time, I was indebted to a brother who had served with me. Thinking about it usually got me afraid, but being a believer, he understood and accepted my plea to pay him when I get a job. Two weeks later I got my present job as a Front Desk Officer/Receptionist.
The first step to my rising was coming in contact with this ministry that has blessed my life so much and staying under shepherds that gave me Godly counsel. Raised as a reverend’s daughter, I was under pressure to remain in my family church but thank God my parents understood and allowed me to obey God after seeing the transformation in me. I had dreamt of attending a church like this if an opportunity comes for me to travel abroad. Little did I know I could find one in Nigeria. Becoming a member of the New Wine Choir has been the best thing that ever happened to me.
Today, it is my seventh year as a worker and my fifth year as a confirmed staff in the organization where I work. From being a Front Desk Officer, I have been moved supernaturally to Administration Assistant, Shipping and Insurance Officer, Secretary to Sales Manager, Bids and Tenders Coordinator, and finally to Sales Engineer last year.
Those who doubted my capability as a sales engineer have seen me blossoming in this area. They celebrate the favour of God on me because His grace has made me bring profit to the organization, especially from unusual places.
From the first day I stepped into this church, I knew God had ordered my steps. I thank God for my pastors and the Word they teach us. It has changed my mindset on giving and receiving, and inevitably changed my life as well. God is saying this is only the beginning of great things in my life.
