4 Behold the proud, his soul is not upright in him; but the just shall live by his faith.
Habakkuk 2:4
This thought, that the just shall live by faith is so profound that it is repeated in various portions of the Word of God. Romans 1:17 says, “For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, ‘The just shall live by faith.’” We read the same thing in Galatians 3:11 and Hebrews 10:38. This tells us something very important. It tells you that faith is important to God and it is a way of life. As opposed to what a lot of believers think, faith is not a magic button that you press when you desperately need something from God and then you switch it off when you are satisfied. It is not saying “I’m going to believe God right now for a house.” You may never have believed God for an empty cardboard box! It is not declaring, “I am not sick,” while your body is racked with pain. Rather it is declaring, “By His stripes I was healed,” irrespective of the pain. Faith is a supernatural way of life for the believer.
If you are a believer you are meant to be living by faith. Your natural body needs oxygen to survive. Similarly, your spirit needs faith to be alive. If you are not living by faith you are not living, you simply exist on earth. The just shall carry out a way of life that is a lifestyle of faith. Every single person who is born again is expected to live by faith. The passion of every new believer should be to learn how to develop the lifestyle of faith, for that is the destiny of every child of God.
Confession:
I am a believer. I am privileged to live the life of faith. I was saved by grace through faith, I talk faith and I walk by faith. I am a faith person all the time.
