Thanking God for the Miracle in My Family. God Is Awesome Indeed!

Around the first week of April 2016, we undertook a major faith project in our finances and my job was stopped on the 30th of April, followed by the death of my mother on the 31st of May. Thirdly, my second daughter Victoria was involved in a domestic accident on the 14th of June. On the evening this accident happened, my children had their dinner and were about to bathe when Victoria went into our bedroom to search for a book. On her way out, she decided to sit down under the shoe rack, but as she was about to stand up her dress pulled the shoe rack which fell on her and pushed her to the bed frame. We had to raise the shoe rack and pull her out as she screamed, “God I want to walk again.” We checked her leg if there was any fracture, but couldn’t trace any and so we prayed with her and thanked God for protecting her. Little did we know that the devil had gone far; our daughter was unable to walk after the incident. We called someone to massage the leg and took her for x-ray a week after, and we were told that there was no fracture of the femur bone and knee region. Back home, we continued with the massage for another week without any improvement.

We decided to take her to an orthopedic hospital where an x-ray was performed, and it was discovered that the femur bone was dislocated from the pelvic bone socket. We were advised by the doctor that the best way to fix the dislocation was to carry out a surgery and that it had to be done immediately to avoid the bone being decayed since it’s been two weeks after the incident. The medical bill for the surgery was beyond what we could afford. We came to an agreement at N150, 000 which was all we had to pay and promised to pay up the balance later. So our daughter was admitted and scheduled for surgery on the 28th of June 2016. We informed our family outreach group head and zonal pastor to join faith with us and pray for a successful surgery, and quick recovery. The surgery was performed, the Lord God guided the hands of the surgeon and the operation was done successfully. We saw the mighty hand of God during the recovery process. The Lord used our FOG members, friends, TC Cubs leaders, our in-laws who by their visit, encouragement, and financial blessings enabled us to pay the balance.

We spent two months and five days in the hospital. The plan of the enemy was to distract me from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus and also to destroy the seed of the Word of God in our heart so that it will not bring forth fruit, but it failed because in the hospital we were more focused on God’s love. We took communion, thanking God for perfect and quick recovery and had greater spiritual understanding in some areas. Our daughter was discharged after a confirmation x-ray was done for her femur, pelvic bone area and found to be in normal condition. With two crutches to avoid exerting much weight on that part of the leg, Victoria is walking again just as she declared. We thank the children’s church workers for teaching our children the Word, as Victoria declared the right Word instantly by the help of the Holy Spirit. Victoria wasn’t so strong initially to walk to school. God’s favour was so overwhelming that a sister-in-law of my wife volunteered to pick the children to school and back from resumption day to school closing date.

We came back home from the hospital and faced serious financial difficulties. Money for feeding, school fees and financial commitment towards my late mother’s burial stared us in the face. However, we continued to trust God for financial provision. There was a certain amount of money to be paid at the end of a project by the company I was working for, but the information we had was that the money would not be paid. While in the hospital around August 2016, we got a greater understanding about the authority of the believer and we exercised the authority we have in the Name of Jesus, demanding for our right. Denying the devil access to what is ours. We had the backing of the covenant. Scriptures like Job 37:23, Malachi 3:5 and 1Thessalonians 4:6 were our reference about our God of justice, our God who is a swift witness against those that oppress us in our wages and avenge those that defraud us on our behalf. These were the words of His grace which we stood on demanding that the company should pay the money to me and everyone involved.

In October 2016 at the peak of our financial challenge, the money was paid to us by the company. After our tithe and offering, we were able to send our son (who just gained admission into JSS1) to school, made part payment for his sibling’s school fees and sent some money home for our late mother’s burial. The icing on the cake is that the same company that stopped my job seven months before also called me back to resume work some days ago. Our God is awesome!!
