On the 2nd of July 2019, I was to travel to Omoku, which is where I work, by public transport because our car was faulty. Later, my husband offered to drive me to work with my dad’s car, since he was out of town. His younger brother later joined us.

My husband decided to take a route, which I was not too comfortable with. Halfway through the journey, we suddenly saw an armed man who ran out of the bush pointing the gun at us. I, immediately, screamed, “Jesus!” and was telling my husband and brother-in-law to bend down. On second thought, l wondered how my husband would bend down since he was the one driving. However, God gave him wisdom. I still cannot understand how he went off the road and drove close to the bushy part of the road. There were more than four armed men standing in front and behind us with their guns aimed at us. They watched as we drove past them close to the bush but they didn’t shoot at us. All they did was to run back into the bush. I wondered why they didn’t shoot at us. I asked myself, “Why did they run back into the bush? How come they just stood there and watched us drive past them?”

When I got home that night, I couldn’t sleep. I just kept crying, on my knees, wondering why God loves me so much considering that two weeks earlier, before this incident, still on my way to work, He saved us from driving into armed men along Emohua Road.

For days I couldn’t get over that sight. On Sunday, the 7th of July when Pastor Kech was to share the Word, she kept saying, “God’s love towards us is a commitment and that word was for someone”.

Indeed, God’s love for us is a commitment, and God is big in us. Thank you Pastor Kech for the undiluted Word. Thank you Father for your deep love towards us.
