Why say “supernatural faith”? Is there anything like “natural faith”?

Every single person, whether he or she is born again or not, carries out some kind of faith. For example, if you are asked to take a seat, and you do so, you just exercised natural faith. You didn’t know if the seat was going to take your weight or not, yet in pure natural faith, you sat down without thinking twice, simply trusting that the seat would bear your weight.

If a man gets a job and his letter of employment states that he will be earning three hundred thousand Naira monthly, what is he likely to do? He would call his wife in excitement and he would say, “I got my employment letter. I’m going to be earning three hundred thousand Naira a month.” Then he would begin to make calculations. They would make changes in the menu in the home, based on the increased income without his having been paid the salary yet. In natural faith, he would begin to act based on the letter of employment and the word of his employer. Within the same scenario, some people may even borrow money and start spending, based on the expected salary – without first seeing it!

Likewise, supernatural faith should not be a strange thing to us because we’ve all carried out some form of natural faith or the other. Supernatural faith is the God – kind of faith based upon the Word of God. You can exercise super- natural faith.

“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” As “the substance of things hoped for,” faith is the support, the foundation, and the firmness you see in things you hope for. As “the evidence of things not seen,” faith is the proof you have, of something God has provided for you, which you cannot see.

Confession:

I have supernatural faith. I believe the Word of God even before I see it. If I truly believe, then, my speech and my actions will align with what I believe.
