51 Then He went down with them and came to Nazareth, and was subject to them, but His mother kept all these things in her heart.
52 And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and men.

Jesus had favour with God and with men because He was submissive to authority.

You have to be submissive to the pastors of your local church. If you serve in a department in your church, you have to be submissive to your departmental heads, whether or not you are older than them. You have got to be submissive to authority if you will walk in the favour of God. The moment you cannot be submissive to the authority which you are under, leave. It is better for you because if you don’t leave, you will become a hindrance to that organisation and to yourself.

On the home front, not many Christian women can say they have been submissive in all things to their husbands, especially when their husbands still treat them badly. Woman, if you want your husband to “melt” before you, just be submissive to him. Even when your husband wants you to go against the Word of God (for example, you should not tithe your income, you should not pray in tongues), you can stand firm and refuse to compromise the Word of God, with a loving attitude of submission. On the other hand, a husband who does not take his position as the head of the home, and says that he loves his wife so much and hands everything to her, is weak. Whether or not she is capable, letting her have her way always, is not following God’s order. If you turn the purpose and order of God the other way round, you will get confusion in your home.

If you got employed by a sister in your church to work in her big organization, and she’s been paying your salary for the past three years, and something gets into your head and you suddenly say, “I am older than she is, I know when she was born, why then should I take orders from her?” You are not being submissive.
Be submissive to authority. If you get to the point that you cannot obey or be submissive to authority anymore, leave that organization without animosity.
