11 So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; it shall not return to Me void, but it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.
Isaiah 55:11
The word rendered as “void” here is a Hebrew word that means empty, in vain, without cause. God’s Word always has a mission, a cause and it is programmed to come back full and productive. God is saying here, “Anything I send My Word to do, that is what it will do.” His Word will accomplish every single thing that God has said.
Look again at that verse. God does not just “think of His Word” or “know what He wants to say,” and expect that it will not come back to Him void. No, He speaks His Word. He is confident about His Word that goes forth from His mouth.
If God’s Word does not come out of your mouth, then it has no potency to obtain whatever you want. If you just “know” it and “think” it, then it will be void and unproductive in your life. It is good to know it and think it, but it must also be spoken in faith for it to truly be “sent.” God’s Word says that none shall be barren in the land (Exodus 23:26). He said that He sent forth His Word and healed us and delivered us from our destruction (Psalm 107:20). He said that you are blessed going out and you are blessed coming in (Deuteronomy 28:6). These are powerful promises, but as powerful as they are they won’t happen automatically. You have to believe them and speak them out of your own mouth.
A lot of Christians are wondering why they are not seeing great things happen in their lives. If you are one of such Christians, ask yourself how many words have you sent out lately? Do you know that God does not guarantee that you will have what He says? Surprised? God says that you will have what you say (Mark 11:23). So begin to say what He says about you.
Confession:
God’s Word is powerful. I send forth God’s Word concerning my life and it comes back to me fulfilled and performed.
