20 Which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places.
Ephesians 1:20
6 And raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus.
Ephesians 2:6
Ephesians 1:20 says that God raised Christ from the dead and seated Him at His own right hand in heavenly places. The word “raised” is the Greek word egiro which means to waken from sleep, from sitting, from lying, from disease, from death, and from inactivity. Then Ephesians 2:6 says He raised us up together with Christ. The phrase “raised us up together,” is translated from the Greek word sunegiro which means to rise the same way in company.
If all you see when Jesus was raised from the dead is Jesus alone, you will miss your blessing. The Bible says that when that great power of raising up Jesus was worked, it was not just to raise Jesus but it was to raise together with Him all those who would believe in Him and sit them down at the right hand of the Father with Him. Even for a human king, the right hand is a place of authority. The resurrection gave you the authority and positioned you to live victoriously forever.
Authority means mastery, competence, and token of authority. It is like a transfer of a baton. This authority was given to you here on earth and forever.
In Matthew 28:18-19, when Jesus said that all authority has been given to Him and He asked us to “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations,” He was giving us delegated authority. Ephesians 2:6 says we are seated together with Christ Jesus. The thought that comes to the mind is that a person is not supposed to be sitting when they have been asked to “Go;” they should be working. Someone asks, “If you have been given the sceptre of authority why should you be sitting down?” Statements of this nature show the problem with the church today. A lot of members in the Body of Christ are working; they are busy “fighting” with all the demons. The mindset most Christians have is that since we have been given authority, we ought to be doing something.
Confession:
The resurrection has given me the authority to live victoriously forever because when God raised Christ from the dead and seated Him at His own right hand in heavenly places, I was raised together with Christ to the same right hand of God, the place of authority.
