17 By faith Abraham, when he was tested, offered up Isaac, and he who had received the promises offered up his only begotten son,
18 of whom it was said, “In Isaac your seed shall be called,”
19 concluding that God was able to raise him up, even from the dead, from which he also received him in a figurative sense.
Hebrews 11:17-19
5 And Abraham said to his young men, “Stay here with the donkey; the lad and I will go yonder and worship, and we will come back to you.”
Genesis 22:5
The Bible says Abraham had received the promises. What were the promises? Abraham was promised that he would be a father of many nations. Isaac was the son of promise. The fulfillment of the promise would come through him. At that time was Abraham physically the father of many nations? No! Yet, the Bible tells us he had received it. In which realm had he received it? He received it in the supernatural. In the realm that matters most.
What Abraham had received was that he would be the father of many nations through Isaac. Now God tells him to offer up Isaac. This would test if Abraham had truly received the promise.
What did Abraham say? After Abraham had prepared the wood for the burnt offering, he left for the site of the sacrifice with Isaac and two young men. Once the site was in sight, Abraham told the young men to wait for them for he and Isaac would go yonder and worship God and both of them would be back! Abraham had no fear about offering Isaac because he had calculated that God would have to raise Isaac from the dead because you see, he had already received the promise, and Isaac was that son of promise. Period!
Your actions would show if you have received your promise in the supernatural or not.
Confession:
Lord, I will continue to develop a greater sensitivity for the supernatural realm – the realm that matters most. May I be more conscious of the things You have done for me in the supernatural realm and lay hold of every single one of them by faith, in Jesus’ Name.
