RECEIVING AND HAVING

24 Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.

Mark 11:24

We see two unique words used in this precious verse of Scripture. We see “receive” and “have.” They seem like the same word yet they are different – so different. Jesus had a sense of grammar. He used two different words because “having” and “receiving” are not the same in the context of faith. “Having” is when you have it in the natural. It is when you can see it. “Receiving” is when you have taken it by your own prompting; you couldn’t see it but you took it all the same – by faith. Receiving is when you say, “I believe I am healed,” but you cannot see. Receiving is when you say, “All things are mine in Christ,” but all around you is physical evidence of lack.

When you want to take something in the natural realm, you see the object. It prompts you to take it. In this case there is no object but you are receiving it in the supernatural realm. Where super- natural faith is concerned, “receiving” comes before “having.” Before you can have it, you have to receive it. You have to act like it. You have to talk like it before you can have it. Mark 11:24 doesn’t say when you pray believe and you shall have it. It says when you pray believe that you receive and then you shall have it.

Faith receives things in the supernatural realm before it receives them in the natural. Remember the just shall live by faith. Your body survives by oxygen, water and food; the righteous shall live by faith. That is how important faith is to you.

Confession:
Lord, thank You for all I have asked You for in faith, this season of my life. I believe I receive them and I shall have them. My confidence is in Your Word and Your Word alone.
