POWER IN MERCY TO HEAL

21 Then Jesus went out from there and departed to the region of Tyre and Sidon.
22 And behold, a woman of Canaan came from that region and cried out to Him, saying, “Have mercy on me, O Lord, Son of David! My daughter is severely demon-possessed.”

Matthew 15:21-22

This benefit of healing and indeed all our benefits in Christ are reserved for those who are in covenant with God and who belong to Him. In this dispensation, we are the church of Jesus Christ (true born again believers); while in the Old Testament the children of Israel fit this bill.

Now, the Scripture above is clear about the fact that the woman came out of Canaan. Therefore she was a Gentile with no right to consult God as Healer. The woman knew this. So, when she came to Jesus, the first thing she said was, “Have mercy on me, O Lord, Son of David.” The woman appealed to the mercy of God because by the Law she didn’t qualify to receive healing from God. Mercy is when God withholds from you what you deserve and offers you His grace, which you didn’t deserve.

Friend, if you will appeal to the mercy of God, you will gain entrance into the benefit of healing. When you want to receive your healing and the Devil says you don’t have faith, just appeal to the mercy of God.

If you have sinned against God and because of condemnation, there is no faith in you at all, or you feel you can’t even go to God confidently, go to Him on the basis of His mercy. Believe His mercy enough, to receive it when He offers it. I heard the testimony of a preacher who was called on the telephone, when a little girl was dying. When she was put on the phone, he began to call upon the mercy of God to deliver her. That was how that girl was raised. There is power in the mercy of God. However, we should never use the mercy of God as an excuse not to grow our faith and grow in God.

Confession:
Father, thank You for Your mercy through which I can receive the benefit of healing You’ve given to me.
