10 By that will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.
11 And every priest stands ministering daily and offering repeatedly the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins.
12 But this Man, after He had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down at the right hand of God,
13 from that time waiting till His enemies are made His footstool.

Hebrews 10:10-13

Christ is sitting down at the right hand of God because He has reached the eternal timeline. There is no time beyond eternal. He offered His blood once and there is no need to do it again. The Bible tells us that in the Old Testament it was the high priest that performs the blood sacrifice. All the other regular priests went into the outer court. Only the high priest entered the Holy of Holies once a year on the Day of Atonement with the blood of animals. Christ has been made our High Priest and He offered His sacrifice once and for all.

Sometimes when you are working with somebody, maybe a secretary or an accountant, you might find them doing a particular job over and over again. If they have to produce ten letters, they write one, start all over again and write the second one, then start all over again, write the third letter and do it again for the fourth letter, on the computer, maybe using Microsoft Word. For every staff in the company, they start from the beginning to write the same letter. The only thing different in each letter is the name of the person. (Such inefficiency makes me want to scream!) So, you come to them and say, “Why are you doing this over and over again. Just write one letter and use the mail merge format and create a list of everyone who will get the letter. Once anyone wants a letter, add his name on the list and the software will print out his own personal letter from the master template.” This is what Jesus did. He said, “I am not going to be doing this ‘washing away of sin’ business once a year throughout eternity. It is not efficient and gives no guarantees. I am just going to do it once and anybody who wants to make use of it, will just come, give us their name and voila! Their sins are washed away instantly! Their sins are washed away instantly.” He has done it. Once and for all! That is the efficacy of His sacrifice!
