8 For I also am a man placed under authority, having soldiers under me. And I say to one, ‘Go,’ and he goes; and to another, ‘Come,’ and he comes; and to my servant, ‘Do this,’ and he does it.”
9 When Jesus heard these things, He marveled at him, and turned around and said to the crowd that followed Him, “I say to you, I have not found such great faith, not even in Israel!”
Luke 7:8-9
What did Jesus describe as great faith? The centurion had a deep understanding of the concept of authority and this revealed his level of faith as being great. There must be a link between your understanding of authority and your level of faith.
The centurion declared that he was a man under authority and when he instructed his servants to do something, they did it. His understanding was that when somebody in authority sends forth his word, the one it is directed at, must do what he or she has been instructed to do, period. The end result is obey without complaining. His understanding impressed Jesus because it was one hundred percent accurate.
Similarly, when God sends forth His Word, the recipient of the faith command has no choice than to obey. It is one thing to know that God is Truth and He cannot lie. It’s another thing to know that, regardless of the situation, you have the right to use the Name of Jesus in all authority. This Name has been exalted above every other name or circumstance.
Regardless of how long, how bad, how hopeless any situation may seem, the Word of God spoken with faith must be obeyed. Your finances don’t have a choice than to bow to the Word of God spoken in faith and with authority. Your health does not have a choice than to bow to the Word of God spoken in faith and with authority. If you act on God’s Word in real faith, the Devil and all his devices cannot stop you. He can only complain in his heart and grumble, as he watches the situation crumple at the Name of Jesus.
Confession:
I believe in my authority as a believer. I will exercise that authority and use the Name of Jesus to appropriate everything that the precious blood of Jesus purchased for me. I have a divine advantage because I have been given authority by the Father.
