16 Therefore it is of faith that it might be according to grace, so that the promise might be sure to all the seed, not only to those who are of the law, but also to those who are of the faith of Abraham, who is the father of us all.
Romans 4:16
This verse tells you that access into the grace of God is by faith not by being Jewish or not. Now, Jews have no advantage over the Gentiles (non-Jews) anymore. There is no natural advantage that one child of God has, that will make it easier for them to enjoy the grace of God above another child of God.
No one can say that the reason why he or she is enjoying the abundance of the grace of God in an area of his or her life is just because he or she is educated or just because he or she attended some wonderful school. Nor can anyone say it is just because he or she speaks better English or just because he or she is from some part of the country or just because their father is an influential man of great repute that there is more of the grace of God present in their life. No! It is all by faith; therefore the promise will be sure to all the seed. You become one of the “seed” of Abraham when you accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour. I like to call the point of salvation the “normalizing line” for everyone, irrespective of what natural advantages anyone seems to think he has.
A lot of people go through life believing that they are where they are because of a disadvantage. That disadvantage is only legal over an unbeliever. The minute you got born again, you stood in the grace of God (Romans 5:2). The more you build your faith, the more of God’s grace you will access. All of His grace is available to you, and He made it accessible by faith so that nobody, Jew or Gentile, rich or poor, illiterate or literate has an advantage over anybody else. Therefore, there is no room to boast. That is why a man like Pastor Charles, who was “so poor that the poor called him poor,” can be the Presiding Pastor of a great church like The Carpenter’s Church. That is the grace of God accessed by faith.
Confession:
Thank You Father, because it is of faith that it might be according to grace. Therefore the promise is sure to me.
