7 The sick man answered Him, “Sir, I have no man to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up; but while I am coming, another steps down before me.”
8 Jesus said to him, “Rise, take up your bed and walk.”

John 5:7-8

The condition you need healing for may have lingered for more or less than thirty- eight years. This man had been sick for as long as some people have been alive. The infirmity had certainly become a part of him. Jesus came on the scene and He asked him a question that seemed foolish: “Do you want to be made well?” Jesus knew that the length of time could have affected the man’s will to be healed and He needed to know whether the man wanted to be healed. The man’s answer made it obvious that he had tried other avenues to get help, but nothing had happened. He certainly wanted to be healed but couldn’t see any other way out. For thirty-eight years nothing had happened, and then something happened. The potency of the power of God’s healing transcended how long the man had been suffering and Jesus healed him.

A young lady, an usher in our church in her twenties, shared a testimony of being healed of an asthmatic condition that she had lived with right from her childhood. The asthma condition sentences its sufferers to a lifestyle of limited activity. Since interaction with dust and smoke is almost unavoidable,
there is always the imminent risk of an asthmatic attack. According to her, when she got born again in February 2004, she started believing God for her healing. The symptoms persisted and in 2006, she began attending our church – The Carpenter’s Church. She began to receive the undiluted teaching of God’s Word that began to build up her faith to another level. She became really expectant being sure that this was the place and opportunity for her to take her healing. After another two years, in 2008, she was in a service and I gave out a word of knowledge for all those suffering from asthma. She made contact by faith, believed and received her healing and the asthma was totally gone. By 2010, when she shared her testimony, she was still asthma free. God be praised!
