Meditation Changes Your Picture

3 He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper.

Psalm 1:3

Does your life look like a stunted plant, a barren land or a desert? Then begin to revolve God’s Word in your mind, and speak His Word. This is the way to create a picture of the end result and the picture of the opportunities and the possibilities you can have. For some Christians, trying to believe God for one thing or the other is such a struggle. They are really trying to be in faith. They come to church, hear something and then go home and try and try to do it. First of all, you need to calm down, stop struggling and stop trying. Relax and begin to meditate upon His Word.

A young lady once came to see me because she was having a challenge with her academics. She was a medical student and because of her past experiences with some of her grades, all she could see was failure and the picture before her was that of a medical school dropout. It was a crisis brewing in her mind about to become her tangible experience. I looked at her straight in the eyes and said, “There is no failure in you.” Something happened to her and she realized after that meeting that the only reason she was having those challenges was her fear.

She regained confidence in herself and promised herself that she would not repeat any exam again. She started learning to meditate on God’s Word and give no room to fear. She declared God’s Word in the area of her academics and every area of her life. She kept saying that every lecturer she would meet in her orals (which are very subjective exams) would favour her even as Daniel was favoured. Her picture had changed and the power of God was released on her behalf. She passed all her exams including her final MBBS exams. Today she is a medical doctor not a medical school dropout. God be praised!

Confession: As I meditate upon God’s Word, the canvass of my mind is cleansed from images contrary to how God sees me. The Word paints beautiful pictures of how God sees me.
