It Is Never Too Late For a Fresh Start

I finished my Secondary School in 1998. In 1999, I gave my life to Christ and started attending a fellowship. About that time, I wrote JAMB to enter the university but I wasn’t able to get admission. I was told that the reason why I couldn’t enter the university was because my destiny was tied down.

In 2002, I started attending The Carpenter’s Church and I started hearing a different story: My destiny is in my hand as well as God’s. In 2003, I bought a Certificate form from the University of Port Harcourt. I wrote the screening test but my score was low so I was not admitted. I was discouraged the day I checked my result, which incidentally was a Thursday. That evening, Pastor Charles preached on “You Can Become a Legend.”

In the course of the message he said, “Failure is not final.” That lifted me up. In 2005, I wrote JAMB again and had a high score, but when I wrote the screening test I scored 37%, which was not up to the 40% which the department of my interest required. On the first Sunday of 2006, Pastor Charles ministered on “The Triumphant Will,” and he said, “It’s not too late to have a fresh start.” He also made mention of part-time studies. I decided that that was for me. I bought the form, wrote the screening test and though I didn’t have a high score, admission was given from my score upwards. Today, I am in my final year in the University.

I thank God and I’m grateful to have Pastor Charles as my Pastor.
