This is indeed a New Day for us in TCC.
“9 But as it is written: “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him.”
10 But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God.”(1 Corinthians 2:9-10)
In June and July 2018, Pastor Kech made some declarations over me regarding my job. One of the things she said was that the issues surrounding my company will not affect me. She said that God has gone ahead of me and His script for my life will play out. At this time, my company had some challenges that made headlines in the news and there were a lot of speculations on downsizing that would occur because of an ongoing restructuring of the company.
I tried not to get distracted as I kept making the declarations to myself, and as a family, we broke bread on a regular basis. God showed me unusual favours, which is a different testimony altogether. Within that period, I got some specific instructions from God, some of which were very sacrificial seed sowing. As I executed them, I had peace and there was no fear. As a result, I started streamlining my focus on supporting relevant businesses within my region in which I had engaged with the most.
On Friday, the 4th of January this year of our New Day, I was notified that my role would be one of the roles that will be eliminated by the end of Quarter 1 (Q1) 2019. I had a good laugh when I received this notification because for me I saw it as God saying, “Dormene, it’s time to leave the old and move into the new,” as this did not align with the new day prophecy we had just received during the crossover service. I discussed this with very few people because I did not want to be distracted by any form of pity party. With this notification, I was also advised to apply for some internal openings that would be posted. This was like a survival of the fittest move as it was to cater for some members of the teams impacted. I was confident that I was going to get something even though I limited it to getting something within the region I supported but God had a better plan. During the January Keeping By The Holy Ghost, which was on the 5th of January, the very next day, Pastor Kech said someone will get a career change that will bring about a better standard of living for him and his family. I claimed that word and, immediately, added it to my daily confessions. During one of my trips to support the business I focused on, I got an email of an internal opening located in another country with a wider scope covering more businesses and regions including my current region. Naturally, it was abnormal to go for such a role as it would have been easier to get something within my comfort zone, but I got a nudge to go for it. I reached out to the hiring manager and asked if I could work remotely from Port Harcourt without having to relocate if I was successful in the job interviews, and he confirmed that it was possible.
I proceeded with the job application. While this was in process, it appeared that the job opening I expected for the business I was supporting was paused. I was invited for a set of interviews in February. I had told Pastor Kech about the interviews by text and on the morning of the first interview, she called me and prayed with me making more declarations. All the interviews I had that day went well. On Wednesday, 27th February 2019, I got a verbal notification from our HR that I was successful in the interview and I was given a hint on what my new offer will be in terms of figures. It came with an increase percentage-wise; however, I was prompted to boldly ask for a further increase and I did. That same night, I got a nudge to increase a seed, an amount I intended to assist a brother in church with, but I went a step further to double the initial amount. I was also prompted to pray for a family, they are members of the church and I did. I believe these were also triggers for me on my New Day.
On Thursday 28th 2019, the following day, I got verbal feedback from HR that an even further raise was approved for me and that a formal offer letter will be sent to me shortly. On Monday, 4th March 2019, I received my job offer letter. This brought a lot of excitement to my family and me, and it also brought tears to my eyes as I knelt down at work and recounted God’s faithfulness in my life. I know God loves me, He is faithful and His Word is true. He is not a man that He should lie. Everything happened so fast and in a very simple, supernatural way.
Some people in my office who heard of my role attributed it to my skill, dedication, etc. Forget those things; I am simply God’s Showpiece. This is a classic case of God’s favour and He deserves all the glory.
I thank God for the Word for this year. It is indeed a New Day for my family and me, and I do not take what He has done for us lightly. I thank God for my sweet mum, Pastor Kech. Thanks, Mum for standing with me through this. I love you so much.
I also want to thank Pastor Sola and all the assistant pastors for the undiluted Word that consistently comes from this pulpit. I also appreciate the great teachings I have received so far from Ekklesia, which is also positioning me for great success in this New Day and beyond.
I would like to use this medium to encourage people who do not have jobs and are currently looking for jobs, people who have lost their jobs or people who have been notified of a potential loss of job, please do not be afraid. God is able. Whatever your hands find to do, do it with all diligence and cut out idleness while you wait for your expected breakthrough. It is a New Day for all of us.
