18 That by two immutable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we might have strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold of the hope set before us.

Hebrews 6:18

This verse says it is impossible for God to lie. It is not saying God is not a liar. A liar can lie and choose to lie. Somebody who is not a liar can lie but chooses not to lie. I am not a liar, though I can lie, I have chosen not to lie. It is not that God is not a liar. It is impossible for God to lie. He cannot. It’s not in His nature. There should be no shadow of doubt that when God says something it is the plain truth. It is coming from the mouth of Someone who cannot lie.

When you hear the Word of God, when you read the Word of God and what the Word has to say about you in Christ, you are reading truth because it is impossible for God to lie. That is why every believer should act according to the prescription of the Word of God and not care about looking foolish. If God said that Jesus, “Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness — by whose stripes you were healed” (1 Peter 2:24), it is true. If God says you have been made to “sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus” (Ephesians 2:6), it is true. You cannot be inferior and suffer from a low self esteem seated together with Christ in heavenly places.

This is the first basic understanding you need to have if you are going to follow the prescription of the Word of God. You must have a revelation that it is impossible for God to lie. If God said it, then you can take it to the bank.

Confession:
I can depend on every Word that comes from God. I believe that God is true and His Word is truth. There is no basis for me to doubt the Word of God. I choose to believe God’s Word.
