Due to the drop in the price of oil which led to a subsequent rise in the dollar exchange rate, my company embarked on laying-off of their staff. This was the case in most oil firms across the country at the time. I was also affected, but God reinstated me.
It all started with a compulsory twenty day leave, followed by an additional eighteen day leave. On the second day of the eighteen day leave, I was called from the office to collect my redundancy letter. I refused to go for it. My refusal was hinged on the fact that due process was not followed. Meanwhile, prior to the redundancy incident, I had dreams where I had issues at work and I prayed about it. Dr. Efe Obuke during one of his ministrations said, “If you see it; it is yours.” That also triggered my faith and hope in God knowing that, He had gone ahead of me. I didn’t share the information of my redundancy because it wasn’t a good one anyway. However, I told a few close friends who encouraged me and also prayed with me.
I had the faith that nothing would go wrong because I’m in covenant with my maker. God showed His awesomeness to me on 14 May, 2015. I was reinstated to my job. A thousand tongues wouldn’t have been enough to thank Him for what he has done for me; I give Him all the praise.
