My brother went missing for nine years; everybody in my family was full of panic as they went about searching for him. The information we had was that the ministry where he serves as an instrumentalist took him to Canada without a trace or contact address. For six years, I never prayed about his return or even joined in the search. The reason for this was because I was angry that he left without talking to anyone or even considering my mother’s feelings.
The first testimony service I witnessed in TCC was the “game-changer”. A sister testified about how she was having conversations with the Holy Spirit. I was rather angry wondering why she was blaspheming, and claiming that the Spirit of God was interacting with her while she was speaking in tongues. I almost left the service but I stayed back to hear her conclusion.
When an announcement for Holy Ghost baptism was made, I remembered that sister’s testimony. I gave myself the opportunity to get Holy Ghost baptized, and after the class, I kept speaking in tongues and enjoying a wonderful time with Him. He began to tell me things about my missing brother. I got home by some minutes past 8:00 p.m. that day and spoke in tongues from that time until it was past 11:00 p.m., I never stopped speaking in tongues till date.
One of the many things the Holy Spirit revealed to me was an instruction on the specific seed I was going to sow regarding my brother’s return. I was in awe when He also chose the dress He wanted me to wear on the day I was to sow the seed. He instructed me to tell anyone who asks me where I was going that I was going to book for my brother’s flight ticket.
On the set day, which was Thursday Teaching Service, I stepped out to go to church. My neighbour, whom I have not discussed anything about my family with asked, “Victory, where are you going looking beautiful?” Immediately, I told her I was going to pay for my brother’s flight ticket. She asked, “Is he coming back?” I said, “Yes”.
I never knew about the Prison Ministry when the Holy Spirit instructed me to sow seeds to the Prison Ministry, which I’m still committed to even now. In 2016, my sister called me and told me about someone with whom we lived together in Owerri, who is a pastor now in my former church. She said that the pastor called her and was asking about my missing brother, and she informed him that he has been missing for nine years, only for the man to inform my sister that he saw my brother in Liberia. At this point, I had to ask my sister to pause and come over to my house, just to be sure it was not a dream. My sister came to my house with my brother’s number which the man who called her sent. We dialled and he picked up. He told us that he is alive and doing well.
When I tried asking him what happened all these years, he said he was in bondage but now free from a pastor who was using him and other young men to perform fake miracles. On hearing that, I understood why the Holy Spirit asked me to sow seeds to the Prison Ministry.
God delivered my brother who was already married with kids in a foreign country without the knowledge of his family. He said when he left the pastor, he almost lost his life but God delivered him. I don’t know what would have been his fate now, I give God all the praise. We chat almost every day and make video calls when we want to see him and his family. I thank God who directed my steps to TCC.
