I went for a scan because I wanted to know why I was feeling severe and intense pain on both sides of my stomach. This condition had lasted for more than one month and it was difficult for me to bend. I was always holding my side while walking and even while driving. When the pain became severe I had to go for a scan. The result had one big name; I was told that it had to do with gallstones and that I may undergo surgery to remove the stones if the pains became unbearable.
And so I became desperate but I believed that only the power of God could heal me. I came with my scan result to Oasis our annual musical concert. I was very sure that our man of God would minister the Word on healing, and she did. Though my case was not mentioned, I brought out my scan result and waved it in faith while the prophetic Word on healing was going on not minding if anyone was looking at me, all I wanted was my healing.
We went home and the pains continued and even became unbearable. I discontinued a lot of things, including the family planning I was undergoing. I couldn’t place the root of the pain, and was told by the doctor to take less of oily and spicy foods. I didn’t like it at all especially when I was told not to eat certain things, but I kept declaring the Word of God concerning my healing.
At a time I was getting really discouraged and fear began to creep into my heart. I found myself asking questions like, “What is all this? What kind of pain is this?” Questions without answers! So I picked up the book: Winning In Crises, written by our General, Pastor Charles Omofomah. I had not read it before that time. I just felt I was going through real crises and I just had to win. I began to read the book and I found it very encouraging and heavily loaded with the Word of truth. I read that in Jesus Christ there is a way out of every crisis. Every crisis has an expiring date. The book Winning In Crises made it very clear to me that what will guarantee that I will win in any crisis has to do with how much of the Word of God that is alive on the inside of me.
Also, there are principles stated in the Word of God and I must operate within the framework of God’s promises to have good success (Page 33). I began to encourage myself the more with the promises of God concerning my healing. I meditated daily on healing scriptures like. “He sent His Word and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions” (Psalms 107:20). “But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you” (Romans 8:11). My favourite was: “Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers” (3 John 1:2). We broke bread always as a family. My husband and I would pray a prayer of agreement declaring that I am perfect, sometimes he prayed like a pastor, he would lay his hands on where I felt the pain and shout, “You foul spirit I command you in the Name of Jesus leave my wife, out! Dematerialize in Jesus’ Name!” Sometimes I’d tell him: “Just pray don’t shout!”
Our Family Outreach Group Leader, Brother Dijana and the entire Family Outreach Group prayed very much for me, declaring that there will be no need for any surgery. I also spent time talking to God and declaring that my body is the tabernacle of the Most High, with no space for anything that was not of God. I was just meditating one day and I heard it in my spirit clearly that I should throw a thanksgiving party for my healing even while I was still feeling the pains. So I planned for it. It was our thanksgiving service in church; I invited my guests to come to church and after service to my house for the party. My mum, sisters, in-laws, and friends all came. That morning I remembered cooking and feeling pains, the party went well. One of my invited guests after the party both husband and wife became members of The Carpenter’s Church.
Then came my healing miracle, the first thing that happened to me was that I was referred by a sister in my Family Outreach Group for free medicals, sponsored by Rivers State Government where medical attention was administered free. It was also in a good hospital. Two weeks later, I felt a bit unusual and decided to run a pregnancy test and discovered I was pregnant. I also went for a scan again and still had traces of the gallstones there, but my mind was made up. My husband was more concerned about my health than anything at that time. I was also given medical advice but I decided to ignore all and discontinued every medical attention. So in place of antibiotics that I don’t like, I partook of the communion every day and zeroed my attention from the pain and focused on the pregnancy and the Word of God concerning my situation. After four months I went for a pregnancy scan and it was there I remembered I used to have severe pains. They had gone and I didn’t even know when. I asked the doctor to scan if there are traces of gallstones and as I told him my story and he said: “Madam you are very okay.” I insisted and he said, “There is no trace of anything except for your little boy.” I shouted for joy, this is indeed is the handwork of God. God gave me that miracle, and I carried that pregnancy with so much strength. I never missed church for one day. Our God is indeed faithful.
We are grateful to God as a family for the quality of the Word of God that is taught here, the virtue of the Word of God has built our faith and transformed our lives. My prayer for anyone going through whatever crisis is that you will discover that in Christ Jesus there is always a way out of every crises. We make our boast in the Lord. Amen.
