While returning from my shop on the 8th of May 2017 at about 7:00 p.m., I was almost at the entrance gate to the estate where I live when suddenly I saw people running inside the estate. Initially, I was scared but someone told me to run inside that my apartment was on fire. On getting to my apartment, I saw people with buckets of water and fire extinguishers working to put off the fire through the entrance and from behind the house. Looking out for my children, I saw my house help sitting on the floor with my older daughter but my two younger children were not in sight. I ran inside when I was told they were inside the house. With thick smoke everywhere, I made my way to their bedroom but they were not there. I called out their names and my son responded from the kitchen. With fire all over the curtain by the dining section, I jumped into the kitchen to rescue my children, who had hidden themselves behind the refrigerator.
I can’t explain how I did it, but I know it was God at work. I noticed my house help had been affected by the fire and so with the assistance of a neighbour, we rushed her to the hospital as she cried in pains. By what she narrated, she lit a candle and placed it on top of the generator while she poured fuel, and then the explosion. My older daughter opened the back door for her and she was able to run out through the sitting room. The fire on her body went off as soon as she was outside. By the next morning at the hospital, both her legs, hands and face were like roasted meat. At a point, she started shivering and gasping for breath, saying she could not endure the pain. I rebuked that voice and began to declare God’s Word over her while refusing to pay attention to the nurses who were attending to her.
I declared that she will not die but live to fulfill God’s purpose, that her life is hid in Christ in God, that greater is He that is in her than he that is in the world. To the glory of God, she regained stability. We were in the hospital for about two weeks. Everyone was amazed because the injuries were healed within a short time.
I thank the presiding pastor, Pastor Nkechi and the associate pastor, Pastor Sola whose teachings of the undiluted Word of God precept upon precept and line upon line have helped develop my faith in God’s Word over the years. Sometimes, their jokes are rhema words to me. I also appreciate my zonal pastor – Pastor Dupe Ogbidi, my FOG members, choir members and brethren in church for their unfailing love towards me and my family. May the Lord bless you.
To the Almighty God who always shows Himself BIG in us, who took away shame and reproach, to Him be all glory, honour and adoration forever.
