I graduated in 2006 and completed my National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in 2008. I sent out several application letters for jobs but only got one interview in 2009. I studied Computer Engineering and graduated with a second-class upper division, so I could not understand why I could not get a job.
In 2010, it came to my mind to calm down on job hunting and further my education abroad. As at the time, I did not know how that would be possible, but I stepped out in faith and applied to schools abroad and got admissions. I then started applying for scholarships. On 27th June, 2010 God through my pastor told me that I was going to get scholarships even where I did not apply. I believed and took it as a word of prophecy to me and continued to thank God for it.
In November 2010, one of the agencies where I applied for scholarship invited me for a test in Abuja alongside other people. When we got there, we were told that only one person would be selected from each state. When I heard this, I was discouraged but I still wrote the test. Towards the end of the month, I got a call from the agency telling me that I was the best candidate and had been selected as the successful candidate from my state. I thought I was dreaming but I was invited for document verification and interview, which went well.
As I share this testimony, I am in the UK for my Masters’ degree. I am very grateful to God for His unfailing love towards me, and for having men of God like my pastors.
During this whole process, I faced quite some challenges that made it look as though the scholarship was not going to come through but God, through my pastor, gave me encouragements that will last me a lifetime. She said, “Let not your heart be troubled anymore, God has given you an answer of peace.” From that day (17th July, 2011) I’ve had so much peace in my life and today I am testifying to the glory of the Father. God bless you Pastor.
