I Am So Overwhelmed By God’s Compassion

In the compound where I live, I am known to be a “Jesus babe” (a Christian) as I always make my boast of who I am in Christ ceaselessly and will not let anyone pass me by without asking with a contagious smile, “Are you born again?” and will lead them to Christ at the slightest opportunity. I have also come to discover that these fruits (godly traits) in me attracted many people and leave them desiring to know what I know that they do not know, thereby, allowing them to confide in me. They will come to seek advice or counsel on certain things they may be doing or trying to do and as God’s Spirit will lead me, they always go back refined, happy, refocused and better. Praise God!

The evening before Healing Service, a young man in my compound whose name is Godswill came to me and said, “Aunty Benny” (as I am fondly called) “Our neighbour here (a Muslim) is seriously sick. I have spoken to and prayed with her. I have even invited her to your church, but she said she will not be able to make it.” Immediately I heard this, I excitedly said, “Perfect! Do you know what? Tomorrow is our Healing Service. Let us go back, I will talk with her and she will come.” In my heart, I asked the Holy Spirit to speak through me.

When we got to her room, I called out her name to come outside. She came outside shivering because she had very high fever and had been indoors for days. I spoke to her as lead by the Spirit of God and declared God’s Word upon her according to Isaiah 53. Then, I said to her, “You will come to church with me tomorrow. I will take care of your transport.” She agreed. She is a Muslim and she agreed. The next morning, by the time I got to her room to call her, she was already waiting for me. She managed to walk up the road not believing she could even make it up to that road. I just knew that the compassion of God was already at work in her.

We got to church, I settled her in and went to the choir section to sit. While the service was going on, I declared that she would not leave church the same way she came. In the course of the service, Pastor Nkechi confirmed it as she declared, “You will not leave here the same way you came!” and I shouted a very big “Amen” in affirmation. She had earlier complained to me that she has not been able to eat for days, so when I heard Pastor Nkechi shout again, “Go home and eat!” I was so excited in my spirit knowing that this was the word for her.

After service, we could not find each other, even when I got home, I did not see her. However, an hour later, I heard her voice from the gate as she came in. I was so excited because for the past few days, no one had heard her voice. When she came closer, I asked her how she was feeling and if she enjoyed the service. Excitedly she said, “Sister Benny, I have never seen it like this before. The service was simple but very powerful. I am healed completely. All the pain is gone!” Immediately, she bent down, touched her toe, and turned her waist, back, hands, saying repeatedly “No more pain!” She continued, “As Pastor Nkechi was preaching, I just got strength. I became strong, in fact, it is like my whole body has been replaced with new parts.” Her excitement drew the attention of other neighbours who were nearby and they joined in celebrating and glorifying God. She said, “Last night, I had to empty three bottles of aboniki balm on my body but to no avail.”

I am so overwhelmed by God’s compassion. Even in our ignorance, He still heals us and He is intentional about it. Now, the Muslim woman is happy, healed and ready to come to church with me anytime. The next step is her salvation. All the glory, honour, praise, adoration and thanks be ascribed to the only one true God forever and ever, Amen!!
