I had been sowing seeds and expecting my harvest in the past few years, so I invested in some clothing business, which I struggled to sell, but the increase did not come. I kept expecting it till the end of the month when I got my pay slip. And then it came! I received three bonuses and that month summed up to three months’ salary all at once. As a contract staff where I work, these bonuses would not have been possible even with the intervention of the Nigerian Labour Congress or the best negotiation machinery around. In all my years of working in the company as a contract staff, I have never received any bonuses because they were the exclusive preserve of the company’s staff.

As the blessing came, so also came a temptation. People were leaving the company and the brand new cars, which they had used for about a year and a half, were being sold at very ridiculous rates. I was tempted to get one but I had made up my mind to seize the moment and sow to the building project and other kingdom matters first. I did and I’m really grateful to God for His faithfulness.
