His Results Were Very Good

During the last term of my son’s first year in senior secondary school, the Principal of his school called my husband and I to resolve the conflict with his choice of subjects. He had an inclination towards the pure sciences but insisted that he wanted to go for management science instead. After consulting with the Principal as requested, we tried to persuade our son to stay with the science subjects but he refused. We then had to sign in the management science subjects for his O’Level IGCSE as he requested.

During one of the visiting days in May 2013, which was the third term of his second year, he told us that he would like to go back to the sciences. The implication of that decision was that he was going to take on Chemistry and Physics after abandoning them for one year. We decided to take a step of faith with him. We immediately arranged for extra classes during the last mid-term of that year which was sometime in June 2013.

During that period, my husband and I prayed and trusted God to help him catch up on all that he had missed and we asked for an excellent result especially in Chemistry and Physics. He wrote the exams in the last quarter of last year and the results were published early this year.

When the results were published, I quickly called someone who works in his school to find out the status of his result. She asked if my son had called us and when I said no she expressed her surprise because the school normally asked the students to call their parents to inform them about their results verbally before a certificate is issued and other students had done that. At that point the devil whispered that he must have failed those two subjects and did not want to call us. I rejected his report and told him to get behind me. I chose to believe the report of the Lord and I declared that out loud. We finally got the result and God came through for my son and for us by favouring him. His results were very good in all subjects, especially in Physics where he got an A+ and an A in Chemistry. Glory be to God!
