He Showed Me Mercy And Unmerited Favour

Life became unpleasant when I got into the University and I had to study a course I didn’t like but when I had an extra year, I knew I needed a change in my life. Instead of turning to God, I turned to have an affair with an old married man who had two wives, used to visit an ex-wife, and had two concubines who had children for him. This man, made me feel useless. I worked for him without pay and he wanted to marry me. He gave me money for my extra semester and I graduated with a pass. It was at this point that I found God.
I listened to Pastor Nkechi Ene on Freshdew. I came to church and gave my life to Christ. Though I wanted to walk away from the relationship, the devil kept telling me that I cannot get a job because I wasn’t smart enough. When I became a member of the church, the man got scared and said he won’t pay for my PGD Programme. I didn’t know how God was going to help me and I didn’t know how to trust God.
I left home to live with an old schoolmate. I carried my sewing machine and started sewing and selling clothes for one year. With my newfound faith, I learnt how to depend on God. Suddenly I wasn’t worried about anything anymore; I started looking healthy and happier. I got confidence in myself because I started believing that He would supply all my needs according to His riches in glory. I was ready to work just to get the experience even if I was not going to be paid. I had developed a heart of service to God and man, so I believed God for a job.
One day, I got a call from a multi-national company for an interview, which I went. I didn’t know the job position or the department being applied for but I knew in my heart that the job was mine. I was the only candidate for the interview and I was told to go and negotiate my salary!
It was after I started working that I found out that when my CV got to them, it was removed because they thought I was not qualified and I was also not an indigene but when the Personnel Manager took all the CVs to the interviewer; who now happens to be my manager, he mistakenly took my CV which was still lying on his desk, with the other nine candidates’ CVs. He looked at the nine, threw them away and picked only mine. It suddenly dawned on me that this was the handiwork of God. He showed me mercy and unmerited favour. After three months, my salary was increased.
