This testimony is on behalf of my husband and my family as a whole. The enemy had a conspiracy, a lie that he wanted to tell but God turned it around and gave us a testimony. On the 11th of March 2010, my husband was returning from work after being in the field for two weeks. On getting to Elele, the Holy Spirit prompted him and he asked the man in the passenger’s seat to fasten his seatbelt, and he did. On getting to a corner in Isiokpo, which happens to be my hometown, he had an accident. Immediately he negotiated a corner, he came face to face with a pathfinder jeep trying to overtake a bus that was coming from the opposite direction. With that, there was no way for it to turn, so it ran face on into my husband’s car.
My husband called and asked me to come to Isiokpo, as he was involved in a very serious car accident. I knew that for him to have called me, it was a serious accident but I never imagined what I saw when I got there. In fact, I was short of words and could not believe that people came out of either vehicle alive because the engines were completely damaged.
At the scene of the accident, all the things my husband had in the car were scattered all over the place. I packed his belongings and went to the hospital where they had taken them.
When I got to the hospital, I met my husband standing outside the gate waiting for me. He had a bandage on his leg, but apart from that he looked all right. He then took me to see the man who was in his car. The man was in serious pains and I prayed that the same God who kept my husband would keep him alive.
The doctor there said he needed to call another doctor. When he came, he ran some tests and discovered that the man’s intestines had ruptured as a result of the tight grip of the seat belt. He then recommended a major surgery. They referred the man to another hospital because they could not handle his case. The surgery was done successfully, and God kept the man alive.
When he recovered, he told me that it was because of my husband that God kept him alive. He said my husband used to organize fellowship in the field, as there was no church in the area. Then I remembered how my husband used to tell me how he would preach to them to refrain from the sort of life they were living out there. They would fornicate with the girls in the neighboring villages in the evenings. He said some of them started attending the fellowship and gave their lives to God. He also would organize football matches just to keep the men busy.
I am grateful to God for what He has done for me. I will continue to praise the Lord.
