Faithful To His Word

Some time ago, one of my prayer points was to be able to attain the highest certification in my profession (IT Service Management). The requirement for this was attending 2 courses which were rarely held in Nigeria, taking 2 three hour exams over 2 days. The total cost of the courses and exams was £5,000 (₦1.2m). I believed God for the money. As God would have it, I found out that a UK Training provider was partnering with a Nigerian company to deliver the courses in December for two weeks with the exams coming up in January. It was a breakthrough for me as the cost was greatly reduced to about ₦700,000. But I still needed a miracle to get that amount. I was sent a notice that I needed to make my payments by October. As at the beginning of September I didn't have the money. On the last day of September I got a call reminding me of an allowance I was entitled to which I was ignorant of. I calculated the amount to my bonus for that month and it came to exactly ₦1.2 million. That was an overflow. With the exams coming up in Lagos, I didn't need to liquidate some of my assets which I was already planning to do. I paid my tithe, sowed a seed towards the Church auditorium and wrote a cheque for the course.

I went for the courses and wrote the exams in December and January respectively. The exams were tough but I believed God would perfect what He had started. I later sowed precious seeds into the lives of my Pastors. I never really tied the seeds to anything particular, but it later dawned on me that I might as well tie it to some things, one of which was my exams. Pastor Charles called me thereafter and said that God will increase me, and I held on to that word as prophecy.

At the beginning of March, after our morning prayer, I told my wife that I believed God was saying He would do something specific on the 29th of that month. When that day came we remembered, though the day ended with nothing significant happening – or so we thought.

The next day, I got a call from one of those who sat for the exam saying that his result was sent to him via e-mail but he didn't make one of his papers. I told God that the first thing I wanted to see when I opened my result e-mail was congratulations. This was exactly what happened. When I saw it, I screamed to the extent that people ran out of their offices towards mine to see what had gone wrong. I immediately went on my knees praising God. What was more was that the e-mail was sent 7.30 pm on the 29th of March! God had fulfilled His word. I found out later that out of the 6 of us that wrote I was the only one that passed. Statistically, only 9,000 people world wide own this certification; less than 15 in Nigeria, and in my company I became the fourth person. God has actually increased me according to the word of the man of God.
