29 By faith they passed through the Red Sea as by dry land, whereas the Egyptians, attempting to do so, were drowned.
Hebrews 11:29
The Israelites, who were the people of God in the Old Testament, passed through the Red Sea like dry land. The Egyptians attempting to do the same thing were drowned. What was the differentiating factor? Faith. The people of God who were acting by faith saw the Red Sea open. They decided to trust God who opened the Red Sea and they walked through the Red Sea. The Egyptians, who were a type of the unbelievers, attempted to do the same thing, but they drowned.
If you are born again and you believe that Jesus is the Son of God, then you are a child of God.
You may have a roommate who does not believe that Jesus is the Son of God and who constantly says so. He concedes that there is a God who is the Creator that created everything. Someday, both of you develop symptoms of a disease, maybe malaria. You decide to stand on God’s Word declaring your healing. In the presence of your roommate, you receive your healing by faith. Your roommate then decides to do the same thing. Kneeling down he says, “God, Creator of all things, I don’t believe Jesus is Your Son, just like my friend does, however, I’m going to receive healing from you, by faith.” If he doesn’t get medical help fast, he will drown like the Egyptians of old!
The point here is this: supernatural faith is the way of life for the believer – it is the exclusive preserve of the believer. Hallelujah! The unbeliever cannot live by faith.
Confession:
Father, I declare that I am different from the unbeliever. I believe in Your Son, Jesus and I trust in Your Word and in Your promises. I have victory always. Amen.
