3 We are bound to thank God always for you, brethren, as it is fitting, because your faith grows exceedingly, and the love of every one of you all abounds toward each other.
2 Thessalonians 1:3
One morning, when my first daughter, Zoë, was a few months old, I looked at her and there were rashes all over her body. To be honest, I panicked! She was very little then, I was already preaching the gospel, and in my own life I had seen the healing power of God and ministered that power to other people. You may have a revelation for yourself but when you have a baby you have to “renew your mind” for your baby! I wanted her to enjoy the healing and health in Christ, but when I saw those little things on her body I panicked! My husband wasn’t in town. Then I had this nanny that didn’t help matters. She said to me, “This thing is small pox oh! It kills children.”
I took her to Pastor Charles’ house. In fear, I told him I was headed for the hospital. Going to the hospital is not a sin, but going in fear and panic makes you a sitting duck for the enemy. Pastor Charles said, “Why not just give it a few hours.” I had already packed the bag for the hospital. I calmed down and only then could I hear God. Out of nowhere He spoke to my heart. “Do you know what this thing is? She is reacting to the brand of food you gave to her.” So I stopped giving her that particular cereal and by the end of the day all the spots went away!
Some years later, I saw some spots breaking out on her body again. I didn’t panic. I just laid hands on her and prayed and that was it. I didn’t need to take her to see any doctor. I didn’t even have a sleepless night. She didn’t lose her appetite or her sleep either. She was healed!
I have told you these testimonies, to show you something that happened years ago and something that happened a few years later, to the same child. You’ve seen that my reactions were different. What does that mean? My faith has grown in that particular area; and I tell you it is growing every day. Your own faith, can grow too.
Confession:
Father, my own faith too can grow as I read, listen and meditate on Your living Word.
