47 Now when the woman saw that she was not hidden, she came trembling; and falling down before Him, she declared to Him in the presence of all the people the reason she had touched Him and how she was healed immediately.

Luke 8:47

Whenever contact is made, power is always released. Therefore, faith is the instrument that releases spiritual energy. Faith, and not God, releases the power. Did you get that simple but pro- found truth? The release of power is at the instance of faith. We can make the assumption that present among the crowd were other people who also had all kinds of sicknesses and diseases. Yet, the woman stood out in the crowd as she initiated the release of power that instantly healed her.

When Jesus said, “Somebody touched Me, for I perceived power going out from Me” (Luke 8:46), He was not referring to the general touch of the crowd. Even though they were pressing on Him, they were not making contact, hence, the power would not come out to them. Maybe there were some who had a flow of blood for even 15 years but they were not healed. Many Christians today are like that, “pressing near Jesus,” for years and years – going to church faithfully, serving God in their churches religiously, but never making contact. Without faith, a godly routine turns into a powerless religion. The fact that you go to church, or a healing service, where the healing power of God is present is no guarantee that you will be healed. The fact that power is available doesn’t mean that you will be healed. Faith, not your sickness, attracts the power of God like a magnet.

Power that is not directed is useless. In fact, it’s destructive. Faith, gives direction to the power that is released. Faith receives the power of God in the direction that released it. That explains why in a meeting where the power of God is in manifestation, some can be healed, while others won’t be healed. The power in manifestation will be flowing but it selects the ones that released faith, and hits them for whatever conditions their faith was released for: cancer, infertility, diabetes etc.

I recognize that the release of the power of God is at the instance of faith and not God. Through the instrument of faith I give direction to the power of God to flow towards me.
