On Friday the 13th of March 2015, my mother called me and said someone told her that I would be involved in an accident and that I should be careful while driving. I laughed over it and really did not take her words seriously.
On Sunday the 15th of March, my sister woke me up to start preparing for church but I was feeling very weak and I didn’t feel like driving. As my sister got the kids ready for Church so they could go with me, I told her that I was running late and I had to go to Church with public transport because I really didn’t feel like driving. The kids refused and began to cry. After taking my bath, I decided to sneak out because it was getting late but to no avail. So they all got inside the car and I took the keys but my heart began to beat like there was something wrong.
When we got to the church gate, they all came down and I drove off to drop the car at the car park. On getting to the U-turn in front, I looked at my right hand side mirror and saw a taxi driving towards me at full speed after overtaking the other cars waiting for me to turn. Even scarier was the fact that the driver wasn’t watching and what I heard next was a big bang, sounding like a thunder strike. He knocked me off the road and I thought I was no longer on the earth as the air bags in my car popped out. When I looked at myself and realized that I was still alive, I turned and saw the taxi driver coming out of his car too. The taxi was terribly smashed, with all the headlights and the engine destroyed.
I thank God we both came out alive with no injuries or a scratch because the Police would not have agreed that he was at fault if he had died in that incident. I also thank God that the kids were not inside the car. Our God is awesome and I give Him all the praise because He deserves it.
