CHANGE YOUR PERSPECTIVE

12 So she said, “As the LORD your God lives, I do not have bread, only a handful of flour in a bin, and a little oil in a jar; and see, I am gathering a couple of sticks that I may go in and prepare it for myself and my son, that we may eat it, and die.”

1 Kings 17:12

It is said that life is about perspective. Your perspective of a particular situation determines the outcome of that situation. Do you see a fiery furnace or do you see an opportunity for the Fourth Man to step in? Do you see an obstacle or do you see a stepping-stone? Do you see giants or do you see bread for your food? Same circumstances – different perspectives – different outcomes.

If you have a half full cup of water, you can either choose to say that the cup is half full, or the cup is half empty. Each declares a different perspective. With the right perspective, you find out that you can think of taking water out of that already half full glass because you will be making more room for God to show His might and His miraculous power and fill the glass to overflowing. On the contrary, you could violently resist taking water out of your already half-empty glass because that means you would have even less than you already have. It all depends on your perspective.

The widow had a little flour to make enough food for one last meal. In her eyes it was enough for one last meal. When she was asked to give it to the man of God, it suddenly was not enough anymore. When you have a particular perspective in your heart it comes out in your speech. You begin to spew out unbelief in every statement you make when you have the wrong perspective. You speak lack and insufficiency because that is all you see.

The principles of God’s Word will work for anyone. If you get into the cycle of His principles, they will work for you. One of those principles is: “If what you have is not enough to be a harvest, make it a seed.” Quit considering your prevailing circumstances and conditions. Those who consider their circumstances end up dying all forms of death. Change your perspective and live life more abundantly.

Confession:
I change my perspective and choose to see things the way God sees them. I see my finances through the eyes of God’s might, miraculous provision and overflow.
