10 “Now therefore, why do you test God by putting a yoke on the neck of the disciples which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear?
11 But we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be saved in the same manner as they.”
Acts 15:10-11
In these last days there is a lot of works-based Christianity and if you are not discerning you will not notice it. There are some “brands” of Christianity that appeal to the fetish nature of some Africans and South Americans. If you seek for help from some of these places where these “brands” of Christianity tend to thrive, you’ll be told things which go like this: “If you want this to happen take a three day dry fast after which you will take a seven day fast. After seven days, bring an offering of half of your salary to the church consecutively for six months, and what you want will happen.” That is not grace. Sadly, these things are happening in Pentecostal churches. Someone says, “But it worked!” If something is going to qualify as a counterfeit, it has to look very much like the original. That’s why results alone don’t tell you if you are on the right path or not.
The fact that a sickness or disease disappeared doesn’t mean it was the power of God that caused it to disappear. If the Devil gave it, he can take it away temporarily. However, know that it’s not going to leave forever; it’s going to leave for a season and when it comes back the last state will be worse than the former.
If the first one the Devil took away was a lump, tomorrow it may be a growth. Such people, instead of asking themselves why the sicknesses or diseases reoccur, they go back to the same place they’ve been going to and get deeper into “works.” Then they are told to do something more, which they diligently do. Then the Devil takes it away again, and so they are deceived into believing that it was what they did that caused the condition to disappear. It keeps on happening like this until after a while, the Devil gives them another situation that eventually kills them.
Thank God that His grace is for eternity, and whatsoever God does for you through grace is for eternity. Hallelujah!
Confession:
Thank You Lord, for whatsoever You do is complete and forever. Nothing can be added to it and nothing can be taken away from it
